Roman Reigns Has Been Surpassed as WWE’s Biggest YouTube Star
In the late 2010s, Vince McMahon tried his hardest to move on from John Cena and make Roman Reigns the new face of WWE. The babyface Big Dog version of Reigns was a failure. Although he was winning world titles and main eventing WrestleMania every year, fans didn’t take to his dull gimmick. That all changed when Reigns turned bad in a new decade and became the Tribal Chief. For the past half decade, WWE has revolved around the OTC and the audience now loves him, no matter what he does. No one stays at the top forever though, and as recent YouTube stats from August 2026 show, Roman’s reign is nearly over because a new superstar has surpassed him as the most watched superstar on the platform.
Roman Reigns Had Three of WWE’s Most Watched YouTube Videos in August 2026
- Roman Reigns and The Bloodline are the top stars of WWE Raw.
- The Tribal Chief beat Seth Rollins to retain the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam.
- Solo Sikoa turned on Reigns and sided with LA Knight to take on his family.
While the top-heavy SmackDown’s crowded main event lineup is ruled by CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Randy Orton, Roman Reigns is the man on Raw. Whether you’re sick of The Bloodline or not, fans still love the faction. After a dull feud over the summer with Jacob Fatu, business picked up for the heel group thanks to a renewed rivalry with Seth Rollins heading into SummerSlam and a fresh feud with the now paired-up LA Knight and Solo Sikoa.
The August 2026 YouTube stats prove it, with Roman Reigns occupying the third, fourth, and fifth most watched WWE videos. According to Wrestlenomics, who counted the first seven days of viewing history, “Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins end The Shield in epic main event: SummerSlam 2026 highlights” had 1.45 million views. The video shows how Reigns beat Rollins, followed by their show of respect afterward as they did the Shield fist bump and paid tribute to Dean Ambrose’s place in the group. Coming in at number four, with 1.61 million views, was “Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins | World Heavyweight Title Match: SummerSlam 2026 highlights.” Those highlights showed more action throughout the match instead of focusing on the aftermath.
At number three, with 1.94 million views, it is not a SummerSlam match but a big development from Raw a few weeks ago. “Solo Sikoa and LA Knight DECIMATE The Bloodline: Raw highlights, Aug. 17, 2026” was a thrilling show ender. To close out Raw, it looked like Sikoa was about to turn on LA Knight and rejoin The Bloodline, only for the new friends to fight back and take out the Tribal Chief and the Usos as Jacob Fatu watched on. WWE is missing out on exciting scenes like this, so it’s no surprise that fans would gravitate to such a fun segment.
Oba Femi Had the Top Two Most Watched YouTube Videos by Far
- 2026 has seen the monstrous rise of Oba Femi on the WWE main roster.
- After losing at WrestleMania 42, Brock Lesnar beat the Ruler at Clash in Italy.
- Lesnar raised Femi’s hand after losing to the Ruler at SummerSlam Saturday.
So who could top Roman Reigns in the summer of 2026? It’s not Rhodes, Punk, or Orton. It’s not Kevin Owen’s surprise SummerSlam return either. That leaves only one man. 2026 has been the monstrous rise of Oba Femi. The Ruler made an easy transition from NXT to the main roster thanks in part to challenging Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, which led to a three-match rivalry.
The second most watched WWE video on YouTube in August 2026 was “FULL MATCH: Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar: Clash in Italy 2026”, which had 2.39 million views in its first week. It’s rare for WWE to post full PLE matches so quickly, so it’s understandable that the WWE Universe would flock to see the Beast vs. the Ruler, where Lesnar got his revenge and evened their series at 1-1.
This leaves the most watched YouTube video for August, which doubled anything Roman Reigns did. With a whopping 3.72 million views was “Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar | Hell in a Cell Match: SummerSlam 2026 highlights.” The last match in their feud, and presumably the last match of Lesnar’s career, main evented SummerSlam Saturday. In the end, Femi was victorious, but what was truly shocking was what came after, as Lesnar raised the Ruler’s hand. With that, the torch was passed.
It’s Only a Matter of Time Before Oba Femi Becomes the New Face of WWE
- Femi is like the second coming of Goldberg but even better.
- Oba gave up the title shot he earned by winning King of the Ring.
- It’s likely that Femi will beat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 43.
At just the age of 28, and with less than a year on the main roster, Oba Femi has arguably become WWE’s most over superstar. When his music hits and the crowd starts chanting “Oba! Oba!” it’s like watching Goldberg in 1998 all over again. However, unlike Goldberg, Femi has superior mic and wrestling skills. Combine that with his jaw-dropping appearance and he has it all.
When Femi won the King of the Ring, everyone thought they knew what was next. Winning the crown meant a world title shot at SummerSlam, where we’d get Oba Femi vs Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. Instead, an odd booking choice saw Femi give up his title shot for now to get his revenge on Lesnar instead. This doesn’t mean WWE is having second thoughts on the Ruler. It’s quite the opposite. Unless something else odd happens, you can bet that the Ruler will take down the OTC in the main event of WrestleMania 43. This will be the moment when Femi becomes WWE’s top star. According to fans who watch YouTube though, it’s already happened.
