Persephone, Andrade to defend titles as part of busy 9/5 AEW Collision – POST Wrestling

This weekend’s edition of Collision is scheduled to be a packed one.

Eight matches have been announced for Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, which was taped on Wednesday night in Allen, Texas. Among the numerous matchups will be a pair of title showdowns.

Persephone will defend the TBS Championship for the first time on Saturday night, going head-to-head with recent AEW signing VertVixen. CMLL’s Persephone notably captured the title off Maya World as part of All In’s pre-show on Sunday.

Also, after banking a future world title opportunity at All In by winning the Casino Gauntlet match, Andrade El Idolo will defend his AEW National Championship against Gabe Kidd. The bout will be Kidd’s second-ever match in America since March, as visa issues kept him out of the country for a large portion of the year.

It’ll be a busy night for the tag division in AEW. The Young Bucks will meet Brian Cage and Jake Doyle of the Don Callis Family, the Motor City Machine Guns will make their AEW in-ring debut against The Swirl, and the duo of Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight will look to rebound from All In with a match against Juice Robinson and Ace Austin.

We’ll also see a singles bout between Nick Wayne and Komander, as well as a trios showcase featuring Brodido and Hangman Adam Page.
