Every WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Under Triple H, Ranked By Quality

At the back end of 2024, WWE rebooted the Saturday Night’s Main Event series, bringing back the classic show with a bang and putting forth semi-regular events with an old school flavor. The Triple H era of WWE has featured a whole host of Saturday Night’s Main Events thus far, though some of these shows have been far better than others.

Whether it be memorable moments, show-stealing matches, title changes, or the overall consistency of the card, it is interesting to see which of rebooted Saturday Night’s Main Event shows have been the best and the worst thus far.

Saturday Night’s Main Event May 2025

• Zelina Vega vs. Chelsea Green was a horrible match.
• Jesse Ventura’s commentary was a dud point on this show.
• The main event of SNME was very weak.

The worst Saturday Night’s Main Event under Triple H thus far came in May of 2025 on a card that featured nothing good at all outside of a decent tag team opener between The Vision and CM Punk & Sami Zayn, which saw the surprise return of Bronson Reed. Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul was a dull main event for the World Heavyweight Title, with even the return of Cody Rhodes not able to save it in the aftermath.

Among the worst bouts included a dreadful contest between Chelsea Green and Zelina Vega, Jesse Ventura ruining the Steel Cage match between Drew McIntyre & Damian Priest with some bizarre commentary, and John Cena squashing R-Truth in a match that ended via disqualification.

Saturday Night’s Main Event July 2025

• Gunther retired Goldberg.
• Seth Rollins executed a perfect fake injury at this show.
• There were no good matches at SNME.

Although it wasn’t a clinic by any means, Goldberg’s final ever match against Gunther was fairly enjoyable and ended the show on a solid note, even though his post-match farewell was cut short.

Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre was rushed and pointless, Solo Sikoa vs. Jimmy Uso failed to impress, but although it was awkward at the time, Seth Rollins’ fake injury angle against LA Knight was executed to perfection.

Saturday Night’s Main Event May 2026

• Sol Ruca vs. Becky Lynch was an all-time bad match.
• Penta vs. Ethan Page was a highlight.
• This edition of SNME had both ups and downs.

The May 2026 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event was an up and down show, with a truly horrible piece of booking with the match between Becky Lynch and Sol Ruca, which ended dreadfully after two minutes, and a pretty poor showcase for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

There were some highlights such as Penta vs. Ethan Page and The Vision vs. The Street Profits, but neither of these truly stuck out as being anything overly special. The whole night was average.

Saturday Night’s Main Event July 2026

• Fatal Influence became the new Tag Team Champions.
• Lyra Valkyria & Bayley had a good match.
• Danhausen’s shenanigans took away from this show.

The main event of CM Punk & Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther & Sami Zayn was a very fun bout that featured non-stop tag team action, elevating this entire edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Elsewhere, Lyra Valkyria & Bayley had a very solid showcase, and Fatal Influence’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship win was a nice moment. However, the shenanigans involving Danhausen served to be a negative on an otherwise solid card.

Saturday Night’s Main Event January 2025

• Bron Breakker vs. Sheamus was a lot of fun.
• Rhea Ripley & Nia Jax have good chemistry in WWE.
• Nothing at SNME was memorable.

January 2025 featured a fun Saturday Night’s Main Event that had an unsung clash between Rhea Ripley & Nia Jax, a fun brawl (with a frustrating DQ ending) between Braun Strowman and Jacob Fatu, a very enjoyable and hard-hitting Intercontinental Title clash between a pair of brutes in Bron Breakker & Sheamus, and finally a hot World Heavyweight Title encounter between Gunther and Jey Uso in the main event.

This edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event didn’t have anything world class or special, but every match was solid to good and featured nothing poor throughout the night.

Saturday Night’s Main Event November 2025

• Jade Cargill won the WWE Women’s Title.
• CM Punk became the new World Heavyweight Champion.
• This edition of SNME felt important.

The November 2025 Saturday Night’s Main Event was a high profile night that featured a lot of notable moments and matches, with four title matches making up the card. Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre may not have been ideal, with a convoluted ending, but everything else provided either good matches or big title wins.

Jade Cargill became the brand new WWE Women’s Champion in a dominant decimation of Tiffany Stratton, CM Punk outlasted Jey Uso to become the new World Heavyweight Champion, and Dominik Mysterio survived a fun Intercontinental Title triple threat against Penta & Rusev.

Saturday Night’s Main Event December 2024

• Chelsea Green was crowned as the first ever US Champion.
• The overall feel of this rebooted SNME was fresh and fun.
• Kevin Owens gave Cody Rhodes a piledriver.

The first rebooted Saturday Night’s Main Event in 2024 provided a throwback feel and special atmosphere, which elevated the night and made it very enjoyable from start to finish.

Among the bigger moments included Chelsea Green becoming the first ever Women’s United States Champion, a brutal post-match angle between Kevin Owens & Cody Rhodes, and a fun triple threat in which Gunther defeated Damian Priest & Finn Balor. Things weren’t all perfect, as Liv Morgan vs. Iyo Sky underwhelmed, but overall the show was a great way to kick off this rebooted series.

Saturday Night’s Main Event December 2025

• John Cena retired at SNME.
• WWE featured stars from NXT during this show.
• Gunther vs. Cena is a divisive WWE match.

WWE hosted a very special edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, centered around the retirement of John Cena. His final match with Gunther was a show-stealer, and despite a divisive ending, it remains as a great matchup.

The rest of the show featured the showcase of NXT stars and younger names, giving them the spotlight on a noteworthy night. The likes of Sol Ruca, Oba Femi, Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater all impressed on a special show.

The best Saturday Night’s Main Event thus far came in January of 2026, with WWE putting forth just three very strong matches (plus an electric brawl between Cody Rhodes & Jacob Fatu).

RHIYO vs. Judgment Day was a lot of fun, the WWE Title number one contenders four way had a lot of good action, but the highlight came in AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, which was a match of the year candidate as they put their absolute all into their final ever match together.
