Eddie Kingston to miss Friday indie event in Canada
Eddie Kingston won’t be making his scheduled indie appearance in Canada tonight (August 14).
The AEW star was supposed to compete at Fighting Back 2026, a charity event that’s being held to benefit the Canadian Cancer Society. But C4 Wrestling announced this morning that Kingston will no longer be appearing at the show due to reasons outside of their control.
“We are deeply sorry to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control, Eddie Kingston will no longer be appearing tonight at our event,” the indie promotion announced. “We assure you the show is going to be incredible, and we will do our best to make up for the change. Please support if you are able to.”
A six-man tag match was set to take place with Kingston, Ortiz & Gabriel Fuerza facing Sheldon Jean, Jessie V & Mark Wheeler.
This is the 15th annual edition of Fighting Back. The show is being held at Preston Event Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and will stream live on IndependentWrestling.TV and YouTube at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time.
Eddie Kingston in AEW —
Kingston had been away from AEW programming for a bit before returning last week and advancing to the second round of the Continental Challenge Cup with a victory over Jake Doyle. During his absence from AEW TV, Kingston was wrestling on ROH and the indies.
AEW does not have any events this weekend with Collision already having been taped. The next show for the promotion is Dynamite in Baltimore, Maryland next Wednesday.
