Official Predictions For AEW WrestleDream 2026
WrestleDream 2026 is the next PPV on the AEW calendar, as the promotion takes over the Additional Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida on October 17. The show will feature the first ever Clockwork Carnage match in AEW for Will Ospreay’s AEW World Championship, Mercedes Mone’s AEW Women’s World Title defense against challenger Thekla, plus more throughout the show – but who will stand tall and have their hands raised?
Using current ongoing events across AEW programming, some educated guesswork, and when looking ahead to the future, these are TheSportster’s official predictions for the winners of every match at AEW WrestleDream 2026.
7
Andrade El Idolo Vs. Tommaso Ciampa (AEW National Championship)
- Andrade currently holds the Casino Gauntlet contract.
- Ciampa has been searching for gold since losing the TNT Title.
- Ciampa challenged Andrade on a recent episode of Collision.
Andrade El Idolo and Tommaso Ciampa have been two examples of how successful a fresh start can be, both winning singles titles in AEW and procuring a lot of momentum. In his search for title gold ever since his loss of the TNT Championship, Ciampa’s next target became Andrade, challenging him for the prize.
With Andrade likely to turn his attention to the AEW World Championship soon, we can see a title change occurring at WrestleDream, especially since Ciampa is overdue another title reign after his very strong work in recent months.
TheSportster’s Official Match Prediction: Tommaso Ciampa defeats Andrade El Idolo to win the National Championship
6
Jon Moxley Vs. Mark Davis (AEW Continental Championship)
- Moxley has reigned as Continental Champion for nearly a year.
- Mark Davis’ stock has risen in AEW in 2026.
- Moxley’s Death Riders have feuded with The Don Callis Family.
There has been no stopping Jon Moxley’s reign as AEW Continental Champion, holding the title ever since Worlds End last year. Mark Davis has proven to be a dominant force on the roster, and this has seen him put in perhaps his biggest spot on an AEW PPV to date against Moxley.
Throughout the last year, Moxley has successfully outlasted a load of top names, and we expect him to retain here and take the gold into Worlds End in a couple of months.
TheSportster’s Official Match Prediction: Jon Moxley defeats Mark Davis to retain the Continental Championship
5
The Brawling Birds Vs. Wrathlander (AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships)
- Brawling Birds won their titles at All In.
- Harley Cameron was one half of the inaugural tag champs.
- Cameron & Statlander have procured recent wins.
The Brawling Birds recently survived their feud against Divine Dominion, beating them at both All In: London 2026 and All Out 2026. Ahead of WrestleDream, the newer duo of Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander, known as Wrathlader, became the new number one contenders, setting up a showdown between two babyfaces duos.
Despite Cameron’s history as a tag champion, The Brawling Birds’ reign is far too young and new to end here. This will be a pretty basic, simple win for the team of Jamie Hayter & Alex Windsor.
TheSportster’s Official Match Prediction: The Brawling Birds defeat Wrathlander to retain the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships
4
The Young Bucks Vs. Kyle Fletcher & Kevin Knight (AEW World Tag Team Championships)
- Matt & Nick Jackson are four-time tag champions.
- Knight & Fletcher became number one contenders.
- There is history between The Young Bucks and Don Callis Family.
In a ladder match at AEW All Out 2026, The Young Bucks beat Cage & Cope and FTR to become the brand new and four-time AEW World Tag Team Champions. At the same time, Kevin Knight & Kyle Fletcher earned the right to call themselves the new number one contenders for the belts, with the two hoping to settle their own differences to bring gold to the Don Callis Family.
As talented as Fletcher & Knight are, The Young Bucks’ reign only just began, and there is no way that they are dropping the titles yet. Instead, Fletcher & Knight will be at each other’s throats, leading to their downfall.
TheSportster’s Official Match Prediction: The Young Bucks defeat Kyle Fletcher & Kevin Knight to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships
3
Swerve Strickland & The New Level Vs. Adam Page & Brodido (AEW World Trios Championships, 2-Out-Of-3-Falls)
- Swerve Strickland & The New Level retained the trios belts at All Out.
- Strickland & Adam Page are sworn enemies in AEW.
- Their match at All Out was a match of the year contender.
The feud between Swerve Strickland & The New Level and Adam Page & Brodido has been rising in tension for several weeks, especially on the back of their show-stealer at All Out 2026. Things are not stopping there as their issues have continued, with Strickland & Page once again becoming vicious, personal rivals. The stakes will rise at WrestleDream, as the teams will battle in a 2-out-of-3-falls match.
Although the AEW World Trios Title reign of Swerve Strickland & The New Level is fairly young, we predict a shock title change with Page taking an underhanded route to get one over on his enemy. This will lead to yet another match between the trios, perhaps with a more violent stipulation attached.
TheSportster’s Official Match Prediction: Adam Page & Brodido defeat Swerve Strickland & The New Level to become new AEW World Trios Champions
2
Mercedes Mone Vs. Thekla (AEW Women’s World Championship)
- Mercedes Mone won the title at All In.
- Thekla became the number one contender at All Out.
- This is a first-time ever match in AEW.
Mercedes Mone’s win of the AEW Women’s World Title had a slow start due to injury, but things look set to truly kick off against former champion Thekla at WrestleDream. This could be match of the night if handed time, but given that Mone is only new to her reign and Thekla held the gold as recently at Redemption, don’t expect a title change here.
It will be a hard-fought contest but Mone will stand tall and cement herself as AEW Women’s World Champion.
TheSportster’s Official Match Prediction: Mercedes Mone defeats Thekla to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship
1
Clockwork Carnage (AEW World Championship)
- This is the first Clockwork Carnage in AEW.
- Will Ospreay will defend the AEW World Championship.
- Names such as Samoa Joe will be after the gold.
Will Ospreay’s match creation, Clockwork Carnage, will be making its AEW debut at WrestleDream 2026, with the AEW World Champion taking on seven different opponents from across the roster. Although on paper Ospreay has the odds stacked against him, with a lot of unpredictability, there is no way Ospreay loses.
After beating Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley in recent months, Ospreay will once again overcome the odds and stand tall against a sea of challengers, making himself a more worthy champion.
TheSportster’s Official Match Prediction: Will Ospreay wins Clockwork Carnage to retain the AEW World Championship
