Every Match Ranked & Reviewed
It was a three-hour special for AEW fans at the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio as the go-home editions of Dynamite & Collision on October 14 prior to the WrestleDream 2026 PPV were hosted back-to-back. The double-billing featured plenty of big showdowns with several qualifying matches for the Clockwork Carnage AEW World Title match at WrestleDream, and more.
TheSportster’s rating system will take a look across the entire match card for AEW’s three-hour Dynamite & Collision special to determine the best match of the night, the weakest showcase on the card, and how everything else stacked up in between.

Two women who have fallen short to TBS Champion Persephone and her interfering ally Britt Baker in recent weeks, Dani Luna & Hyan, teamed up to take on the heelish duo on Dynamite/Collision this week. After a brief babyface flurry, it was Baker & Persephone who exerted early control, beating down Hyan for some time until Luna came in for a barreling hot tag.
Whenever Luna & Persephone were in the ring together, things were quite enjoyable, but the crowd investment and pace just wasn’t present for much of the action, leading to awkward and slow moments. An inadvertent collision between Baker & Persephone opened the door for Luna to win with a roll-up.

The main event of the Dynamite portion of this three hour broadcast saw United Empire allies Will Ospreay and Casino Gauntlet holder Andrade El Idolo team up to take on Tommaso Ciampa (who will face Andrade at WrestleDream) and Samoa Joe (who has qualified for the Clockwork Carnage match for the world title). Despite the big names involved, this never elevated to a higher gear and was ultimately a little underwhelming.
Things were pretty slow-moving early on, springing into life somewhat upon Ospreay’s hot tag and entertaining back-and-forths with Ciampa, which got the crowd fired up. Just as things were getting interesting, Ciampa took a cheap shot by DDTing Andrade on the National Title belt, allowing Joe to choke him out. It was odd to see Ciampa settle back into a heelish role after such an impressive babyface performance at All Out.

Over a year since his last shot at the AEW World Championship, Adam Copeland sought to enter contention again in a Clockwork Carnage match against Josh Alexander. He had to battle from below, as Alexander worked over Copeland’s leg through much of the contest, slowing the veteran down until he rose up and brought a lot of fire to get himself back into the contest.
They traded momentum as the action pressed on with counters, big moves, and simple but solid wrestling. An exposed turnbuckle threatened to give Alexander the win, but a Copeland kickout gave him (and the crowd) a second wind. A last ditch spear handed Copeland a solid win in a fine but basic showdown.

Prior to the much-awaited matchup between Thekla & Mercedes Mone at WrestleDream, they enlisted the help of their allies for a trios match on Dynamite/Collision. The Triangle Of Madness played the de facto babyfaces here, serving as the team who popped the crowd with three-way submissions, worked from below as Divine Dominion & Mercedes Mone slowed the match down, and had some fun hot tags.
Things broke down with all women getting involved late on, resulting in plenty of fun sequences, near-falls, and a crowd who grew with the match. In a fun finish, Julia Hart used some poison mist, allowing Thekla to pick up a cheap win to build momentum in her search to reclaim gold.

Two very impressive and athletic names stepped foot into the ring on Dynamite/Collision, and while the result of Ricochet winning was very predictable, Austin put in a good performance to stand out. There was nice high-flying, harsh strikes, a good pace throughout to keep the fans engaged.
A couple of instances emerged in the match of slightly mistimed spots and awkward execution, but it wasn’t damaging to the momentum of the matchup. A lunging headbutt, Spirit Gun and Vertigo secured Ricochet the win.

One current and one former member of The Don Callis Family went to war on Dynamite/Collision, as Konosuke Takeshita competed in AEW for the first time since All In to take on Brian Cage in a Clockwork Carnage qualifier. Both men showed some great examples of their respective strength and agility, though admittedly at times some sequences were a little disjointed and awkward.
Either way, this match still had its moments and plenty of quality throughout, especially when the action sped up and heated up in the latter stages (such as a wild top rope hurricanrana from Cage). Shaking up his offense, it was a dragon sleeper which handed Takeshita the victory.

The opening match of AEW Dynamite/Collision featured The Death Riders battling members of The Don Callis Family, coming ahead of Jon Moxley’s AEW Continental Title defense against Mark Davis at WrestleDream. The early stages saw some fun exchanges between those in the ring, with the fans in particular hot behind seeing the recently returned Wardlow (who also had a hometown advantage) mix it up with The Death Riders.
The behemoth trio in The Don Callis Family were dominant throughout, with The Death Riders needing to pull out a lot of hard-hitting and explosive offense to keep themselves in the contest. The latter portion of the match saw Moxley & Davis meet in the ring, and some chaos ensued with all members of the match getting involved. In what was a surprisingly clean result, Davis issued his brutal piledriver on Moxley to win the match, building momentum ahead of his title match. Moxley being on a losing streak following his loss to Ospreay at All Out was a nice story being told.

With the International Championship on the line, Kazuchika Okada and Myron Reed mixed it up in a Clockwork Carnage qualifier. Despite their very different styles, Okada & Reed displayed tremendous chemistry throughout in a match that had crisp wrestling, big strikes, fluid reversals, and more.
The more defined star in Okada controlled much of the contest, forcing Reed to dig deep and show fight to get himself back into contention, and he did so with a mix of high-flying ability, quickness, and superb counters (such as his Matrix-style avoidance of Okada’s Rainmaker). The result may have been predictable, with Okada winning with the Rainmaker, but it was very enjoyable.

The main event of the Collision portion of the broadcast saw a Clockwork Carnage qualifier between Darby Allin and Hechicero, which also happened to have the TNT Title on the line. Hechicero’s unique offense was on display, Allin sold well like he usually does, and their chemistry with one another was present in a match that had technical exchanges, Allin’s typical explosive style, brutal strikes and bumps, and more.
With Hechicero honing in on Allin’s weakened leg, the champion needed to work from below, using his body as a weapon to try and find a route to victory. Three Coffin Drops in the closing moments allowed Allin to stand tall in the best match of the night.
