Shane Haste and Alpha Wolf tied for second place in A Block of N-1, Yuki Iino upsets Kiyomiya – POST Wrestling

The round-robin portion of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s N-1 Victory tournament enters its final weekend, with the A Block members having their penultimate matches on Friday.

In Sendai, 344 fans attended Friday’s N-1 show, with the field being thinned out after the day’s results. In the main event, Shane Haste was victorious against Takashi Sugiura, placing the former GHC champion into a tie for second place. Haste used Bomb Valley Death to pin Sugiura and move to eight points in Block A.

Alpha Wolf tied Haste’s point total by defeating Chen with La Pesadilla and stayed alive in the block.

The A Block leader is Kaito Kiyomiya with nine points, who came out of Friday’s show with a loss to Yuki Iino in a big upset. It was Iino’s first win of the N-1 Victory tournament.

The other block match saw Kazuyuki Fujita defeat Yoshiki Inamura by referee stoppage. It all but eliminates Inamura, who leaves with seven points.

The final A Block matches occur on Sunday with Kiyomiya facing Chen, and Alpha Wolf taking on Shane Haste. If Kiyomiya wins, he wins the block and advances to the final. Haste and Alpha Wolf both need a win and a Kiyomiya loss. Mathematically, Inamura could force a four-way tie if he wins his last match, Haste and Wolf go to a draw, and Kiyomiya loses.

Saturday is a B Block show with Kenoh vs. Manabu Soya, KENTA vs. Titus Alexander, Tetsuya Endo vs. Kouga, and OZAWA vs. Masa Kitamiya.

The final will take place on Sunday, October 4.
