Dana White Says Ciryl Gane Will Not Be Promoted To Undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion
Tom Aspinall is no longer the UFC Heavyweight Champion, but Ciryl Gane will not be promoted from Interim Champion.
Ahead of UFC 331, Dana White stated that Gane won’t be promoted to Undisputed Heavyweight Champion despite Tom Aspinall relinquishing the title due to injury.
Gane defeated Alex Pereira at UFC Freedom 250 to win the Interim Title. He fought Aspinall at UFC 321, but the fight was stopped due to excessive eye pokes from Gane. Aspinall has not fought since and underwent surgery.
White said that Gane will have to fight for the Undisputed Heavyweight Title and that he will fight “very soon.”
