Stardom Adds Jimbo Bonji to English Commentary Team Wrestling News Source – Latest WWE, AEW, Pro Wrestling News, Sunday Night’s Main Event Results

Stardom is welcoming a new voice to its English commentary team, with bilingual voice actor Jimbo Bonji making his debut this weekend.

Bonji will call the Stardom to the World pay-per-view at Yokohama Budokan on September 12. Walker Stewart will continue working with the promotion, with the pair also teaming up on commentary for selected shows.

Fluent in Japanese and English, Bonji arrives with a voice acting background and a reputation for having a “million dollar voice”. He shared his excitement in a statement released by Stardom.

“I am beyond thrilled and honored to be joining the Stardom English commentary team! Working alongside Walker Stewart, who has called some of the most iconic clashes in wrestling and STARDOM history, and occasionally teaming up at the desk, I’m excited to bring the incredible athleticism, stories, and spirit of these athletes, as well as the unmatched passion of the fans, to audiences all around the world. Thank you so much for your warm support, and I can’t wait to share this journey with you all!”

Stewart welcomed the announcement, explaining that another commentator will help Stardom provide live English coverage more frequently.

“While I wish I could attend every single night in-person, the addition of another English commentator ensures live English commentary at every given opportunity,” Stewart wrote. “I’ll still be around, and I am excited to join Jimbo at the first opportunity. Please be kind to Jimbo, I’m excited to see what he can provide!”

Alongside his Stardom work, Stewart provides English commentary for NJPW and called AEW Collision last week.

Bonji’s first event features two major championship matches. Triangle of Madness members Thekla, Skye Blue and Julia Hart will defend the Artist of Stardom Championship against Natsupoi, Aya Sakura and Yuna Mizumori.

In the main event, World of Stardom Champion Suzu Suzuki will put her title on the line against Natsuko Tora.
