Pat McAfee reiterates he will not return to WWE programming, may have been wrong about Cody Rhodes

Pat McAfee has reiterated that he will not return to WWE programming, though he admitted he may have been wrong about Cody Rhodes.

The stipulation for Rhodes’ match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42 stated that if Rhodes defeated Orton, McAfee would leave WWE programming for good. Rhodes won the match, and McAfee recently addressed the possibility of a WWE return during an Instagram Stories Q&A.

“If Randy would have won, maybe. But I made a promise that I would never, ever, I will never be seen on WWE television ever again. And Cody Rhodes won. He is the one. What a dog he turned out to be. Maybe he was the right one all along. Maybe I was wrong with what I was saying. But no, wrestling fans can sleep soundly, understanding that I will never be back over there.”

Pat McAfee announced as panelist for Monday Night Football pregame show

McAfee addressed the WrestleMania 42 stipulation on Instagram Stories on Tuesday. On Wednesday, it was announced that he will join ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown as a panelist throughout the NFL season. The Pat McAfee Show will also travel to the site of each week’s Monday Night Football game.
