AEW reveals next Continental Challenge Cup matches, Nigel McGuiness injury update
The next matches in the AEW Continental Challenge Cup tournament are set, with Nigel McGuiness saying he’ll stay in the tournament.
In a promo that aired during the AEW Continental Challenge Cup Quarterfinal Selection Special, McGuiness was seen wearing a walking boot. He said there was no sprain or break but it hurt like hell. He said that fear wouldn’t stop him and has dealt with pain in the past. Someone else was going to have to stop him and promised to claw and scratch in order to get to Wembley Stadium.
It was soon revealed that McGuiness would be taking on Hechicero this Wednesday on Dynamite. In addition, current Continental Champion Jon Moxley will face Jay White. The other two quarterfinal matches will take place on the following Collision, with Orange Cassidy taking on Kyle O’Reilly and Claudio Castagnoli squaring off against Eddie Kingston.
The winners of those matches will face off in the semifinals, which will take place in Glasgow, Scotland on August 26. The finals will then take place at All In on August 30.
