At WrestleMania 42, Roman Reigns main evented WWE‘s biggest show of the year once again, this time defeating CM Punk to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. Four months later, the OTC’s reign is still going strong, with no signs of a loss coming anytime soon. It’s assumed that Oba Femi will finally be the one to take him down at WrestleMania 43 next year. However, that’s eight months away, and the Tribal Chief’s title run is already getting dull. There needs to be a big shake-up, and at Money in the Bank it’s happening. It’s more than wishful thinking; at the PLE, LA Knight is finally winning the World Heavyweight Championship.

Penta and LA Knight Are Reported To Be Roman Reigns’ Next Challengers

  • Roman Reigns beat Seth Rollins to retain his title at SummerSlam.
  • He had a fun back-and-forth promo with LA Knight on the Raw after the PLE.
  • AAA GM Rey Mysterio announced a luchador tournament, with the winner to challenge the OTC.

At SummerSlam, Roman Reigns finally bested Seth Rollins in the best match of the PLE. That was great, but now what? Thankfully, WWE has noticed how dull they’ve made their biggest star, and in the last two weeks they’ve made a real attempt to turn him around. First came a compelling promo with LA Knight on the Raw after SummerSlam, where Knight made his intentions for the OTC’s title known without the company quickly booking a match. Then came the announcement by AAA GM Rey Mysterio of a luchador tournament, with the winner getting a title match against Roman at Raw in Mexico City next month.

This will certainly keep Reigns busy for a while. On August 13, WrestleVotes on Fightful Select reported WWE’s next steps for the Tribal Chief:

Sources indicated to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select that a matchup between L.A. Knight and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is currently on the table, with a ‘strong sense internally’ that it will take place at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event on October 10th.

After speaking with a talent, WrestleVotes learned that the feeling backstage is that Penta will be the winner of the ongoing luchadores tournament to determine a challenger to Reigns’ title on the 9/14 Monday Night Raw in Mexico City.

Solo Sikoa Will Help LA Knight Take Down the Original Tribal Chief

  • Penta has no chance of beating Reigns for the title at Raw in Mexico City.
  • After losing to Jey Uso on Raw, Solo Sikoa will be delivered to the Tribal Chief.
  • A babyface Sikoa will help LA Knight beat Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Roman Reigns vs. Penta on Raw in Mexico City will be an exciting matchup. The only problem for WWE’s new top luchador is that there’s no way he’s winning the World Heavyweight Championship. Normally, the same thing could be said for Knight as well. Call us crazy, but we don’t see that happening this time. If LA Knight is ever going to become a world champion in WWE, the time is now and Money in the Bank is his moment.

The path is already there for it to happen. The Bloodline is a bizarre group, with the faction reunited first as tweeners before becoming full-fledged heels who are still cheered on by fans. The current storyline sees Jey and Jimmy Uso trying to bring their brother, Solo Sikoa, back into the fold. Solo, free from his family and excelling as a hilarious babyface, has resisted. However, after losing a stipulation match to Jey Uso on this week’s Raw, Solo will be delivered to the Tribal Chief. When Reigns and Sikoa meet in the ring, there are two options. One sees Solo refusing to join, taking his beating, and staying on his own. The other sees him giving in and joining the Bloodline.

Option two is where we’re likely headed. Don’t be disappointed though. This won’t go the route of Jacob Fatu, whose main event potential was stripped away. Solo will be the charismatic Sami Zayn type in the Bloodline, and with a twist. Look for him to be working to take down the group from within. At Money in the Bank, he will seize his opportunity, turning on his family to help his new friend, LA Knight, win the World Heavyweight Championship. The pieces are all there for a shocking moment.

Fans Will Revolt If WWE Books LA Knight To Lose Again

  • Reigns doesn’t need to carry the title all the way until a match with Oba Femi at WrestleMania 43.
  • Fans are bored and want to see WWE do something exciting.
  • It’s now or never for LA Knight, who deserves at least one world title run.

With WWE’s lazy booking, common sense tells you that Roman Reigns will win yet again and continue marching on to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 43. This dream match can still be the path, but why not take a twist to get there? Reigns doesn’t need to be the champion the entire time until April 2027. There’s no reason why he can’t lose it for a while, then get it back in time for WrestleMania in Riyadh. LA Knight is right there as the perfect superstar to give Reigns’ gimmick the shake-up it needs.

WWE knows fans are bored. They’ve seen the attendance figures going down. They saw how the stadium at SummerSlam was only half full. For them to book LA Knight in a world title match, they know what the reaction will be if their plan is simply to have Knight lose a shot at the title once more. Knight is akin to what Daniel Bryan was more than a decade ago. He’s the underdog, the older star with the gift of gab who keeps getting back up when he’s knocked down. Fans are sick of him getting knocked down though. He’s one of the most over stars in WWE, no matter what they do to him. That has to count for something.

It’s time for Knight to be rewarded and be given a world title run. It doesn’t have to be a long one. Maybe he wins, only for Reigns to beat him and get the gold back in a few months. That’s enough. By having LA Knight win the World Heavyweight Championship, Shaun Ricker gets what he deserves, and the fans get the emotional moment they’re clamoring for. It will also do wonders for Roman Reigns by forcing his character to evolve. At Money in the Bank, it’s finally happening. When the show ends, LA Knight is wearing world championship gold around his waist.
