The first-ever AEW Continental Challenge Cup continued on Wednesday’s Dynamite with two more men advancing to the field of eight.

In the night’s main event, reigning Continental Champion Jon Moxley submitted Jack Perry in their first-ever singles match to advance. Perry was bloodied during the match and eventually succumbed to a rear naked choke.

Earlier in the evening, Jay White gained a measure of revenge on rival David Finlay, defeating him in a physical match to advance. Finlay wanted to hit Overkill, but White blocked the knee and hit a flash Blade Runner for the win.

The two join Eddie Kingston, Orange Cassidy and Claudio Castagnoli in the next round with three more matches to go. The quarterfinals will be made via a blind draw with the semifinals taking place on Dynamite in Glasgow, Scotland, ahead of All In with the finals taking place on the PPV. The overall winner takes home both the Continental title and the Cup.

This Saturday’s Collision (taped Wednesday in Las Vegas):

  • Roderick Strong vs. Kyle O’Reilly
  • Hechicero vs. Brian Cage
  • Nigel McGuinness vs. Katsuyori Shibata
