Major WWE Star Won’t Be On TV Until They Sign A New Deal As Contract End Looms

We’re closing in on a month since we last saw Bayley on WWE TV. Pair that with rumors that the multi-time Women’s Champion still hasn’t signed a new deal, with her current contract reportedly nearing its end, and fans are starting to worry that we might have seen the last of The Hugger in a WWE ring.

Bayley Hasn’t Signed A New WWE Deal

The latest reporting and speculation on the current status of Bayley in WWE comes courtesy of Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Those reports claim that Bayley has been offered a new contract by WWE, but she is yet to sign it. The end date of her current deal isn’t known, but estimates place it at around the end of the year, possibly not until January 2027.

It’s that hesitation, or perhaps outright reluctance, to pen a new deal that has allegedly led to Bayley’s sudden disappearance, at least when it comes to televised events. The veteran has continued to wrestle at live events, competing in a handful of matches against Sol Ruca. However, her defeat at last month’s Saturday Night’s Main Event is the last time Bayley wrestled with the cameras rolling.

WWE’s New Contract Offers

Up until a few months ago, Bayley seemingly sitting on a contract for a little while before almost certainly just signing it wouldn’t have been quite as big of a talking point as it is today. WWE parent company TKO’s new approach to contracts has changed that. Tenured Superstars are being asked to sign new deals and take significant pay cuts. It’s believed that’s why Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Sheamus have left the company.

There’s a strong possibility that Bayley has now been presented with that same offer, and that she doesn’t want to take it. There has also been a desire from some Bayley fans for her to leave WWE and try her hand in AEW. Not only does Bayley feel like she would be a good fit in AEW, but one of her best friends, Mercedes Mone, formerly Sasha Banks, and oldest on-screen rivals is one of the promotion’s top female stars.

Before Bayley decides her next move, she might want to check whether it would even be possible for her to become All Elite. That’s the obvious landing spot for anyone leaving WWE, but there are rumblings that some already signed to AEW believe the boat is already too full. While fans want Sheamus to sign with the company when he’s a free agent, it has been reported that some in AEW have suggested not bringing him aboard, as competition for spots is already fierce enough.
