Samoa Joe believes the wrestling locker room needs more honest people

A wrestling veteran for decades now, former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe recently shared the need for honest people in the wrestling locker room rather than leaders.

During a recent Dark Side of the Ring Q&A on Vice TV, Joe addressed how having honesty in the locker room is more valuable than self-appointed leaders.

“Being a locker room leader, I think leader is a weird term. I think there are certain people whose opinion people value. If I happen to be one of those people in the locker room, awesome,” Joe said.

“I’m never one to force my opinion on everybody, but if you ask for it, I will state it, and you can do what you want with it. I think just having, not leaders, but honest people in your locker room is very valuable. I just try to maintain that, if anything.”

A former multi-time World Champion, Joe, 47, has been wrestling since 2000 (according to Cagematch) and has gathered over two decades of experience. A former WWE and TNA wrestler, Joe currently finds himself a valuable part of the AEW roster, although he has been absent for the past few months.
