Max Caster’s TNA Career Is Over After Just One Match

There have been rumors circulating claiming Max Caster has already been dropped by TNA after the controversial lyrics in his rap on the way to the ring for his debut match against Moose. Turns out those rumors were true, as TNA has now confirmed it has already cut ties with its newest signing.

“During Sunday Bound for Glory pay-per-view, insensitive comments were made by Max Caster referencing attacks in Riyadh that killed and injured many people,” TNA’s statement reads. “Making light of violent attacks is wrong. This should have never made it into the show, and that responsibility is ours.”

The statement goes on to confirm that the segment has been removed from social clips and replays of the event, something fans noticed prior to TNA’s confirmation that fueled the belief Caster was already done with the promotion after one night’s work. That much is confirmed by the final line of TNA’s statement, which reads, “Max Caster will no longer be wrestling for TNA.”

Caster’s biggest selling point, and what put him on the map in AEW, was the raps he’d perform ahead of matches and during promo segments. The former Tag Team Champion would often touch on controversial topics, often making headlines, and regularly taking unsubtle jabs at WWE, as was the intention of the Riyadh line he came up with at Bound for Glory.

What Lost Max Caster His Job?

Whether it was TNA’s seemingly dormant working partnership with WWE that forced the promotion to reconsider its new relationship with Caster, or the wrestler taking things too far by referencing a very recent, and very real attack that left several innocent people dead, Caster’s time with the company lasted just one night and one match.

Caster wrestled Moose in what will be his only match in TNA after the former World Champion issued an open challenge. The newcomer lost the match. There have been claims that TNA could have potentially landed Sheamus for the match instead, but ultimately opted for Caster. Sheamus confirmed he was leaving WWE earlier this year, seemingly due to being the latest veteran who was asked to take a significant pay cut by WWE parent company, TKO.

As for what’s next for Caster, he doesn’t have a lot of options, at least not when it comes to major promotions. It’s going to be a while before TNA gives him another shot, and since the barb that caused all this was aimed at WWE, that avenue is almost certainly closed to him too. It also seems unlikely that he’ll be able to return to AEW.
