Forget It, LA Knight Has Zero Chance Of Winning A WWE World Title

LA Knight is once again back in contention for a world title in WWE’s main event scene, with him scheduled to challenge long-time rival Roman Reigns at WWE’s Money In The Bank 2026 PLE. Knight’s popularity for many years in WWE would lead to a win being an incredible, deserved, hard-fought moment… but in truth this may be his final chance to pick up a major prize in the promotion. When looking at the chances of Knight winning at Money In The Bank, it is a fair claim to state that he has zero chance of walking out as World Heavyweight Champion. Not only that, but Knight has no chance of ever winning a world title if he loses to Reigns.

  • LA Knight’s rise in popularity did not lead to a world championship.
  • Knight lost to the likes of Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns.
  • WWE has cut momentum from Knight on numerous occasions.

Heading into Money In The Bank 2026, LA Knight is riding a wave of momentum, with many fans wanting to see him dethrone Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. However, quite a lot of those fans have plenty of skepticism and a lack of any real belief that Knight has any chance of pulling off an upset. This is due to WWE’s track record when it comes to booking LA Knight, with the promotion missing chances time and time again to elevate him into a consistent main eventer and world title contender.

In 2023, when Knight experienced his initial rise as a popular name, WWE opted against him winning the Money In The Bank contract, which fans were fuming about. Later in the year, he became one of the many unsuccessful challengers amidst Roman Reigns’ multi-year reign as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. It took some time for Knight to climb back up the ranks, challenging for top gold in 2025, but once again failing to dethrone a defined star in Seth Rollins, even though WWE’s audience desperately wanted it to happen. Time and time again, WWE has chosen to not give Knight a major belt, and there is no reason to think things will be any different this time around.

Roman Reigns Will Not Lose At Money In The Bank

  • Reigns has already outlasted big challenges in his World Heavyweight Title reign.
  • WWE will keep Reigns as champion until WrestleMania.
  • Recent developments on WWE programming make a Knight win even less likely.

The man with the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist is one of the biggest reasons as to why LA Knight will not become world champion. Roman Reigns is one of the WWE’s most protected stars, seldom losing and only doing so under significant circumstances. When assessing Reigns’ recent run with the gold, he outlasted CM Punk in a major WrestleMania main event, survived Jacob Fatu in a pair of hard-fought fights, defeated long-time rival Seth Rollins in the main event of SummerSlam, and ruined what would have been a fairytale title change in Mexico against Penta.

When you consider all of those names that Reigns has already beaten, it is hard to imagine WWE deciding to go ahead with LA Knight as the man to receive the rub from beating the current champion. Not only that, but the next months of Reigns’ title run has already been forecast ahead of time; fans are expecting a champion versus champion showdown with Sami Zayn at Crown Jewel, and for Oba Femi to be the one down the line to beat him for the prize.

  • WWE’s next generation of world champions is on the rise.
  • The main event scenes on RAW & SmackDown have big stars.
  • WWE will not want to put a world title on LA Knight.

If you look across the current Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown rosters, there are so many names who are ahead of LA Knight when it comes to their likelihood of winning a world title. Former world champions in CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, Gunther, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre are clearly ahead in the pecking order, not to mention all of the upcoming and rising names who are either younger than Knight or more favored by WWE in Trick Williams, Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans. Oba Femi, Penta, Royce Keys, and others.

It is too little too late for LA Knight in WWE in 2026, and with him only getting older and with more names on the rise, the chances of him achieving the ultimate goal of a world championship has dropped further than ever before.
