AEW’s Pac Passes Away Hours After His Final Match At All Out

The wrestling world is in a state of shock this morning after it was revealed by AEW that Pac, real name Benjamin Satterley and formerly known as Neville in WWE, has passed away. Pac was just 40 years old and wrestled as recently as Saturday at AEW All Out. His cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Pac Passes Away

“All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac,” a statement issued by AEW late on Sunday reads. “Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans.”

The news of Pac’s sudden passing comes just 24 hours after Pac competed in a losing effort against Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship at All Out. It wasn’t the last fans saw of Pac on one of AEW’s biggest shows of the year either. Pac returned during the main event, making his presence felt during the World Title match between Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley.

Right after their match, Andrade tweeted that Pac “has to be a World Champion in the future”, advising him to leave the Death Riders, like Andrade left The Don Callis Family, to make it happen. Pac’s passing also comes weeks after William Regal shared glowing praise about him on social media, labeling him the best wrestler to come out of the UK since the 1980s.

Pac’s Legacy In AEW And WWE

Although Pac was never a World Champion in AEW, he was the promotion’s first-ever All-Atlantic Champion and a two-time Trios Champion. Pac has been All Elite since 2019 and was one of the first wrestlers outside of the core group that started the promotion to sign with the company.

Before that, Pac was a WWE Superstar under the ring name Adrian Neville and then just Neville from 2012 through 2018, his crowning achievement being his NXT Title reign. Neville was only the fourth person in NXT history to hold its top prize, beating Bo Dallas for the gold and then eventually losing it to Sami Zayn.

Tributes to Pac are already starting to pour in, but there will undoubtedly be a lot of people waking up to this news this morning who are left in a state of shock to discover a wrestler so young and seemingly so healthy has passed away.
