Ryuki Honda wins AJPW Royal Road tournament, will challenge for the Triple Crown on Oct. 22 – POST Wrestling

After failing multiple years in a row, Ryuki Honda finally won All Japan Pro Wrestling’s Royal Road (“Oudou”) tournament.

The 26-year-old first participated in the tournament in 2021, eliminated in the first round that year and the following year. From 2023 through 2025, Honda went all the way to the final, only to come up short to Satoshi Kojima, Ren Ayabe, and Kento Miyahara.

In 2026, he finally hoisted the trophy and prevailed in the sixteen-man, single-elimination tournament, which wrapped up on Tuesday.

Korakuen Hall hosted the final night of the Royal Road tourney with the semi-finals and finals taking place on the same show in front of 1,510. Among the final four, Honda beat Xyon, and Yuma Aoyagi topped Yuma Anzai to set up the night’s main event finale.

After more than twenty-five minutes, Honda executed the Final Vent to win the match and secure a shot at the Triple Crown next month.

Honda’s path to the victory saw the former tag and six-man tag champion go through Kuma Arashi, Kento Miyahara, Xyon, and Aoyagi.

It sets up a rematch between Miyahara and Honda for the Triple Crown on October 22 and saw a faceoff between champion and challenger to end Tuesday’s show.
