TNA Knockouts Television Championship: M By Elegance (c) vs. Kiera Hogan

This was a solid first defense for M, but the match started with The Personal Concierge telling fans that what he loves about Canada is leaving it and flying over Lake America. After some heel schtick from M, Kiera worked on her comeback, knocking M off her base and getting off a shotgun dropkick to send M to the corner. She landed the hip attack and a running dropkick for a two-count.

M caught Hogan with a Codebreaker, but Hogan dodged a moonsault and hit a top-rope dropkick. After a roll-up attempt, Hogan planted M with a superkick. The match ended with M dragging Hogan off the corner after eating a back elbow and winning with the Hitodenashi Driver.

Leon’s warmup

Gia Miller was backstage with Leon Slater, who talked about how his path to Bound for Glory is clear: A TNA Title match against Nic Nemeth. Slater called Nemeth one of the best of a generation and someone he grew up admiring, which is why he’s disappointed he’s sending his little brother against him. He said he would beat the ass out of Nemeth’s “bug-eyed little brother.”

Maybe next time, Skyler

Mila Moore just got off the phone with Mustafa Ali. John Skyler came to check in on Moore after her brawl with Tasha Steelz last week. Moore told him that she didn’t understand why Steelz has a problem with her, and Skylar noted that Steelz is only worried about Jason Hotch. Moore walked away before Skylar was going to ask her out. 

X-Division Championship qualifying match: Rich Swann vs. LJ Cleary

This was a true X-Division match, with both men matching each other move for move, and it served as a good showcase for Cleary, who cut a promo about “living a beautiful life” and doing his pose, where he fixes his hair, which he did at the start of the match.

After hammering Cleary with big kicks, there was a spot on the outside where Swann set up a chair for Cleary to sit on, and he ran around the ring to boot Cleary, who eventually cut him off. However, Swann nailed Cleary with a superkick when he tried to springboard back in. Cleary got off a top-rope stomp and landed a tope con hiro, but Swann eventually cut him off and hit a Phoenix Splash on the outside.

After Cleary got a nearfall of his own, both men hammered big kicks at each other. Swann later used a hurricanrana to send Cleary off the top rope, and he caught him with a poisonrana, but Cleary then caught Swann with an Irish Goodbye (a Canadian Destroyer). Swann maneuvered the ropes and landed a Lethal Injection for a nearfall, and Swann won with the Phoenix Splash to advance to Bound for Glory.

There was a short backstage segment where Elijah gave Ricky Sosa a pep talk ahead of their tag match against The System, saying to not let anyone tell him that he doesn’t belong.

Kaz’s final words to Moose

Frankie Kazarian cut a promo on Moose, saying that he never thought he would accept his bluff because he knows how important TNA is to Moose. Kaz credited Moose for putting TNA on his back and taking it to the next level while he was gone, but he said he would miss him and wished he had been around to see Avery Styles’ development. He thanked Moose for everything he’s done for TNA.

Elijah & Ricky Sosa vs. The System (Eddie Edwards & Cedric Alexander)

There wasn’t a whole lot to this match. Sosa eventually got the hot tag, and after Cedric kicked out of a roll-up, Sosa transitioned into a cutter on Edwards. He then hit a twisting neckbreaker on Alexander for a nearfall. Elijah hit a spinning F5, and Sosa followed up with a springboard moonsault into a pin that Edwards broke up. Elijah walked the ropes and then dove on Brian Myers and Bear Bronson outside. Sosa dropkicked Eddie, and he countered Cedric’s lumbar check into a German suplex and hit the Headshot for the win.

After the match, Edwards took Sosa out with a chair shot, as Myers and Bronson took out Elijah. Edwards laid out Sosa with a package piledriver and cut a promo while sitting over him. He told Sosa that he’s been wrestling longer than Sosa’s been on this Earth. He noted that there have been many Ricky Sosas who have come and gone; guys with all the potential who were going to be stars until they realized this life wasn’t for them. Edwards said that words didn’t work, so now is the time for action. He called for a match at Bound for Glory between him and Sosa to find out if Sosa truly belongs in the locker room.

Grow your garden

The Righteous were in a garden cutting a promo on BDE, saying he chose comfort over growth when he went back to Rich Swann. They sent BDE a warning to see what he and Swann would do now they’re against them.

Leon Slater vs. Ryan Nemeth

Nic Nemeth was commentary, and there was a moment in the match where Slater stared him down. That allowed Ryan to take an advantage, but Slater regained it and landed a huge leg lariat. Slater got off Utopia and won with the Swanton 450.

Nic attacked Slater after the match. He laid out Slater with a belt shot with help from his brother.

Never had a chance

Skylar was backstage with a rose in hand, trying to look for Moore to ask her out. He caught her on the phone, and the person told her that Skylar was going to ask her out. Moore responded, saying she would never go out with someone who looks like John Skylar. She kept trying to ask the person if that was a joke and talked about how sad the idea was, as a disappointed Skylar dropped the rose before even talking to Moore.

Moose’s final stand?

Moose cut a promo, saying he’s been thinking about his accomplishments, which others might consider a Hall of Fame career. He admitted that he might have made a mistake putting his career on the line against someone as good as Kazarian. He called back to the idea that you’re at your best when your back is against the wall. He claimed Lockdown wasn’t his best; tonight will be, and Kazarian will find out why he’s the face of the franchise.

Harley Hudson vs. Zoey Serrano

Serrano came out with TNA’s head of security, who looked like a regular guy, to prevent her from attacking fans or other staff members. After Hudson’s comeback, Serrano caught her with a step-up enzuigiri while on the apron and floated over for a German suplex, followed by a neckbreaker from a suplex position. Hudson caught Serrano with a Code Red and a leg drop on the side apron for a nearfall. Serrano nailed a superkick, lifted Hudson for an arm drag into a knee strike and won with Hell and Back (a GTH variation).

After the match, Daria Rae, who drew “diarrhea” chants, told Serrano to finish Hudson. Indi Hartwell came out for the save and scolded Daria for sending others to do her dirty work. She told her that she and Hudson weren’t going anywhere, and Rae told her that she’s on borrowed time.

Moose’s TNA career on the line match: Moose vs. Frankie Kazarian

Kaz tried to go for an early win, trying to lock in the chicken wing and going for a roll-up. He hit a leg lariat from behind, a backbreaker, a running lariat and a springboard leg drop for a two-count. Moose sent Kaz off the top rope with a sit-out powerbomb. He then booted Kaz off the apron into the announce desk, where Avery Styles was sitting ringside. Kaz evaded a dive, but Moose countered a slingshot cutter into a nearfall. Moose planted a chop and ran up the ropes for a reverse crossbody, but Kazarian caught him with a cutter as the match went into an ad break.

After the ad break, both men traded strikes. Kazarian kept trying for roll-ups and had answers for everything Moose had until Moose kicked out at one after a lariat. Moose absorbed Kazarian’s strikes and landed a big headbutt, followed by a spear. Kazarian rolled away and tried to collect himself near the announce desk. Moose tried to charge at Kazarian, but Kaz countered into a back body drop through a table. Kazarian rolled back into the ring, content with a countout win. Moose barely beat the count at nine, and Kazarian went right after him, floating over with a DDT on the side apron. Kazarian hit Fade to Black, but Moose kicked out at two, shocking Kaz.

Kazarian locked in the chicken wing, and it looked like Moose was fading, but he found a second wing momentarily until it seemed like he passed out. The referee lifted Moose’s hand, and he pumped his fist, showing he still had life. He reversed the chicken wing into a pin, forcing Kaz to break the hold. Moose then hit a spear, but Kazarian kicked out at two. After some reversals, Moose hit a spear when Kazarian went for the springboard leg drop, and he hit one more spear to win and save his TNA career.

After the match, Moose grabbed the crown from ringside and left it in the middle of the ring. He then smashed it with a chair and kicked it out. “That was so unnecessary,” Kazarian responded as Moose celebrated his win in the ring.

The feed then cut to Matt Hardy lying face-first on the crowd with two mysterious figures standing over him, but the camera didn’t tilt up to show them.
