WWE And Disney Discussing Special Events For 2027

Posted By: Ben Kerin on Sep 08, 2026

WWE and Disney are discussing special events for 2027, with plans being explored to bring their family audiences together.

TKO executive Mark Shapiro revealed the talks during his appearance at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference on Tuesday. Details remain under wraps, but his comments suggest the companies could expand their relationship beyond WWE’s existing agreement with Disney-owned ESPN.

“When it comes to going after families, that’s our audience. I think advertisers are starting to see that. Frankly, I’m excited about 2027 as we’re working with the Walt Disney Company on some special events around Disney and WWE and bringing those two audiences together since, of course, what do they have in common? Family,” he said.

Shapiro made the remarks while addressing questions about WWE’s sponsorship and advertising revenue, which had fallen year over year. He attributed the decline to a busier international event schedule and said he expects revenue in that area to finish the year up 20%.

WWE and ESPN are entering the second year of their five-year domestic rights agreement, which puts WWE premium live events exclusively on ESPN Unlimited in the United States.

Shapiro also expects viewership to improve now that YouTube TV subscribers can access ESPN Unlimited through their subscriptions.

No specific events, dates or locations were revealed, leaving fans waiting to see what a WWE and Disney collaboration could involve.
