Joe Hendry roasted JD McDonagh with a giant Funko Pop joke, then beat him on the September 7 episode of WWE RAW.
Hendry’s musical mockumentary offered a ridiculous explanation for McDonagh’s oversized head: his father was a giant Funko Pop. According to the joke, McDonagh’s mother had fallen for the collectible 36 years ago.
It was Hendry’s latest response to The Judgment Day after their interference cost him against Dominik Mysterio at Sunday Night’s Main Event.
The joke then spilled into Hendry’s match with McDonagh. After taking punishment early, Hendry rallied with punches, a shoulder block and a fallaway slam before a headbutt left both men down.
Enter Je’Von Evans, wearing the giant Funko Pop head used to represent McDonagh’s father.
Evans headbutted Dominik when he tried to intervene, while McDonagh missed a moonsault amid the distraction. Hendry followed with a Side Effect to secure the pinfall victory.
Evans capped off the celebration by placing the giant head on Hendry, giving McDonagh another reason to forget the evening.
