Josh Alexander made a shocking return to AEW Dynamite, immediately targeting Sting’s son, Steven Borden.
The Walking Weapon had been out of action since suffering a serious knee injury during a trios match on AEW Collision on March 18. He later underwent surgery, although AEW never confirmed the exact nature of the injury.
After nearly six months away, Alexander returned during the September 2 episode of Dynamite and reunited with the Don Callis Family.
His arrival followed Darby Allin’s successful TNT Championship defence against Mark Davis. As Allin celebrated, Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta launched a post-match attack.
Steven Borden raced to the ring and briefly turned the fight in Allin’s favour. However, just as Borden appeared to have things under control, a bald man wearing a suit struck him from behind.
The mystery attacker was revealed to be Alexander.
Mark Davis then delivered a piledriver to Borden, while Alexander trapped Allin in an ankle lock. The attack appeared to send a clear message that Alexander may already have his sights set on the TNT Championship.
AEW has not yet announced when Alexander will wrestle his first match since returning.
