Kevin Owens helped to the back following WWE house show match
Kevin Owens may be injured.
Video footage from Sunday’s WWE house show in North Charleston, South Carolina showed Owens limping and being helped to the back. It isn’t currently known how serious the injury is.
Owens had just returned from a neck injury that left his pro wrestling career in limbo back at SummerSlam earlier this month. He had been invovled in the WWE title scene between himself, WWE Champion CM Punk, Sami Zayn, Finn Balor, and Gunther.
A bitter rivalry develops
The weeks following his SummerSlam return saw Owens hone in on Punk and his WWE Championship, culminating in a match where Punk emerged as the winner after Zayn, irate at not getting another title shot, interfered on Owens’ behalf. When Owens refused his help, Zayn struck Owens and left him to be pinned by Punk.
On last Friday’s edition of SmackDown, a three-way match between Owens, Finn Balor, and Gunther attempted to resolve the situation. But once again, Zayn ran down to the ring and broke up a Balor pin attempt. Punk attempted to get involved but Owens ended up confronting the WWE Champion. That gave Zayn the opportunity to grab the WWE title and ended up laying out everyone involved, leaving him standing tall to end the show.
