Grayson Waller has pulled off a stunning championship victory at WWE NXT Heatwave, leaving Texas as the new NXT Champion after defeating Tony D’Angelo, Zilla Fatu and Cruz Montana in a chaotic Fatal Four-Way match.

The championship showdown also marked the NXT in-ring debut of Zilla Fatu, the son of the late Umaga. Fatu received a huge welcome from the Texas crowd and wasted little time making an impression, showing a combination of power and surprising agility as he battled three of NXT’s biggest names.

Waller caused trouble before the match had even properly settled down, attacking defending champion D’Angelo and looking for any opportunity to steal an advantage. Despite the destruction, the championship remained up for grabs.

Montana appeared to have found his moment when he connected with Spin The Block on D’Angelo. However, before he could capitalize, Waller suddenly returned to the ring and threw Montana outside.

Waller then covered the fallen D’Angelo and secured the three-count, stealing the victory and becoming the new NXT Champion after 23 minutes of action.

The result brings Tony D’Angelo’s championship reign to an end, while Waller leaves Heatwave with NXT’s biggest prize after taking advantage at exactly the right moment.
