NJPW reveals matches for airport event
NJPW has revealed the three matches that will be taking place when the promotion stages an event in the middle of an airport next month.
On September 18, NJPW will come to New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the original version of the airport. The NJPW card is named “Pro Wrestling Take Off” and will feature the following bouts:
- Yota Tsuji, Taiji Ishimori, Shingo Takagi & Robbie X vs. Hirooki Goto, YOH, YOSHI-HASHI & Tatsuya Matsumoto
- Ryohei Oiwa, Hartley Jackson & Kosei Fujita vs. Aaron Wolf, Yuya Uemura & Taichi
- Yuto-Ice, OSKAR & Daiki Nagai vs. Togi Makabe, Toru Yano & Masatora Yasuda
This untelevised event is happening on the road to September 27’s Destruction in Kobe, which will be headlined by Tsuji vs. Goto for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
Regulations for airport event —
Because this show is happening during normal business hours, NJPW stressed that the safety and smooth passage of the regular airport customers will take priority over all else. Reserved tickets are being sold and there will also be a free standing area, but the organizers reserve the right to restrict that area, temporarily close it, or cancel it entirely depending on the needs of the airport.
Those who purchase front-row tickets will receive an autograph (chosen at random) from NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi or one of the wrestlers on the card. Tanahashi will also be making an appearance as part of the show.
