Darby Allin has opened up about some of his most hardcore moments in AEW.

Allin is known for his risk-taking abilities and his skill at getting hardcore. A few months ago, at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, midway through the match, Allin underwent a spot where he took thumbtacks to his face.

Recently speaking to Adrian Hernandez, Allin was asked about that specific spot. Not regretting getting tacks in his face, Allin said, “No, it wasn’t that bad. The reason I made that face is because I had to blink to make sure a thumbtack didn’t get in my eyeball. I didn’t regret it.”

“It didn’t even hurt that bad. I was more thinking, I forgot, ‘Oh s**t, these are thumbtacks and they’re by my eyeball.’ I was just trying to make sure my eye was like, ‘Oh, see, my eyeball works still,’” Allin finished.

In the same interview, he also shared the process of getting a flamethrower approved on AEW television. “There’s not a lot. It’s just, ‘Let me torch someone with a flamethrower.’ ‘Okay, cool. There’s not a lot that goes into it. There’s not a bunch of hoops. We get business done fast,” Allin further added.

A former AEW World Champion, Tag Team Champion, and TNT Champion, Allin became All Elite in 2019 and has remained with the promotion since then.

How has AEW changed Darby Allin’s life?

In the same interview, Allin also opened up and shared how Tony Khan’s AEW changed his life. “It’s insane. I can’t even… I had my parents retire because of this. I had, you know, my wife and me and her can live an actual life where we think about our future, if we have kids and everything like that. But it’s made me feel so mentally free. And I said earlier that’s my whole goal in life, is just freedom.

I really feel everybody, if they truly, truly understood the beauty of this place, they would treat it with the respect it deserves. No one can create a Darby Allin. I am me. You can’t create me. There’s nothing I won’t do for this,” he finished.
