Cody Rhodes Explains Why He And CM Punk Had Matching Knicks Gear – Fightful
Cody Rhodes explains why he and CM Punk had matching Knicks gear when they teamed together at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
In July earlier this year, Cody and Punk would team together to take on Sami Zayn and Gunther in a tag match with SummerSlam implications. In the end, Punk and Cody would score the victory while wearing matching gear.
While speaking to Complex in a new episode of Sneaker Shopping, Cody Rhodes reflected on the match and he and Punk’s matching gear for the event.
“Me and Punk did the Knicks colors, and they’re very big. I don’t ever like to match. That’s a big thing when you team, it’s like ‘oh they’re gonna match? Are they gonna put their music together?’ Like, no, I want to be me and him be him. But that was one where I think we both thought, ‘yeah, let’s match.’ I love the Knicks gear.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Cody spoke about Tyrese Haliburton’s relationship with WWE as well as the one rule Tyrese gave him when he was gifted his sneakers. You can read more about that here.
