WWE Has Completely Botched Bron Breakker’s Booking

Stephanie Vaquer vs. Liv Morgan and Ethan Page vs. Rey Mysterio on RAW

2026 has been a rough year for Bron Breakker. After being considered (and ultimately rejected) as the 2026 Royal Rumble winner, Breaker picked up an injury on the road to WrestleMania 42, ruling him out of action on the show. His return saw him pick up where he left off with Seth Rollins, losing decisively in their feud with one another. On the back of this loss, Breakker was wandering without direction… until things took a positive turn when he kickstarted a feud with Oba Femi. Breakker looked reinvigorated as a character, felt like an equal to Femi, and was finally on the verge of breaking out… until WWE completely took a 180 on his booking, botching him completely.

Bron Breakker’s Character Work Was Great Against Oba Femi

  • Breakker’s character took a unique direction against Oba Femi.
  • He was jealous about no longer being considered as WWE’s “future”.
  • Anticipation was high for Breakker vs. Femi.

Ever since his loss to Seth Rollins at WWE’s Night Of Champions event, Bron Breakker had been floundering without direction as part of The Vision faction, which has been rapidly losing momentum and standing on the WWE roster. Just when it looked as though his 2026 was going down an even worse direction, he was faced off with none other than Oba Femi. For the next several weeks, Breakker & Femi, two of WWE’s hottest prospects, battled both on the mic and in the ring in a feud which had been bubbling in promising fashion. Breakker’s jealousy at Femi taking his spot as the “next big thing”, and showing dissatisfaction at potentially losing his manager in the process too, has been a great development in his character.

Breakker suddenly had legitimate depth as a character stemming from understandable grievances, with him becoming incensed on defeating Oba Femi and proving himself once and for all as the “future” of WWE. This all led to a highly anticipated match at Sunday Night’s Main Event, which was a showdown that promised a glimpse into what a future WrestleMania headliner might look like in a few years time. Unfortunately, all the strong build and fire in Breakker in the lead-up to this match was completely extinguished with some terrible booking.

Bron Breakker Vs. Oba Femi Ended In DQ… And Breakker Was Happy

  • Breakker has been wanting to defeat Femi by himself.
  • The Vision interfered at Sunday Night’s Main Event to cause a DQ.
  • Breakker, for some reason, was overjoyed with this result.

Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker was developing into a very strong match at Sunday Night’s Main Event, by far being the hottest match on the card as the two men displayed very natural chemistry with one another – looking like complete equals too! This match alone was repairing the damage done to Breakker’s character throughout 2026… and then the ending happened. The Vision arrived to run interference, all leading to Bronson Reed’s surprise return for the first time in several months to cause a disqualification finish. Although this was a frustrating ending to the match, there was potential to build from it… only WWE went down the complete wrong route.

Breakker, given that he was so focused on wanting to beat Femi decisively, was bafflingly all okay, fine, and encouraging of the interference on the night, and celebrated as though he’d won the match when he and The Vision stood over Femi. This was followed up on Monday Night RAW with Breakker and the other members of The Vision parading around the ring and delivering the most bog-standard heel promos you can think of. It would have made way more sense with his current character for Breakker to have been furious with his stablemates, beginning to build to him breaking out of the group down the line. This complete flip in direction for Breakker makes him look weak, inconsistent, and far away from being the “future” of WWE.

Bron Breakker’s Involvement With The Vision Is Ruining Him

  • The Vision faction is dead in WWE.
  • Breakker’s promo on RAW was awful.
  • It makes zero sense for Breakker’s character to change so much.

The Vision is killing Bron Breakker. The faction that was intended to build stars has instead been cursed by injuries, bad booking, and a complete loss of identity, and this is destroying the momentum and potential of Bron Breakker. At Sunday Night’s Main Event, given how well the match had been built, having a decisive winner would not have hurt either man, especially if it led to a series of matches. Instead, The Vision had to get involved, and Breakker’s inconsistent character development is a direct consequence of their involvement in the match.

Femi overcoming each member of The Vision before a rematch with Breakker is the likely direction, with him ultimately beating Breakker. However, if Breakker is to continue down this route of a cowardly, cheap, whiny heel, rather than a destructure, incensed, and talented powerhouse with depth, then it will be Femi and Femi alone who comes out of this storyline looking good.
