Salahdine Parnasse stops Dan Hooker in promotional debut, wants to fight Max Holloway – POST Wrestling
Salahdine Parnasse burst into the UFC lightweight division on Saturday afternoon with a first-round stoppage of veteran Dan Hooker.
Parnasse only needed two-and-a-half minutes to stamp his mark on the division, connecting with a body shot that visibly affected Hooker and placed his back toward the fence. Parnasse connected with a left hook landing flush to the jaw and continued to throw as the fight was waved off in the opening round.
The crowd at Accor Arena provided a thunderous atmosphere for the French fighter, who is a former two-weight division champion at KSW and fought on Most Valuable Promotions’ card on Netflix this past May.
Parnasse showed tremendous speed and an aggressive game plan targeting Hooker’s body.
Parnasse informed the Paris crowd, “I am the best fighter in the world,” when interviewed by Michael Bisping after the win. The newest member of the 155-pound division said he is eyeing a top five opponent but that his dream opponent is Max Holloway.
The win puts Parnasse at 24-2 with his sixth consecutive victory and sets the potential for a real player in the lightweight division, who will be tested more thoroughly in his upcoming fights.
Hooker fell to 24-15 with his third loss in a row after previous defeats to Arman Tsarukyan and Benoît Saint Denis over the past year.

Former Ares FC champion Axel Sola authored one of the scariest knockouts of the year when he floored Fares Ziam with a left hand that put Ziam out. Despite Ziam being knocked out, he took several more shots as Herb Dean dove in to stop the fight. The replay showed that Sola ate an elbow from Ziam as he was connecting with the left, but it did not affect Sola.
Both fighters are of French descent, and the audience in Paris was incredibly heated from the entrances through the post-match speech by Sola.
Sola improves to 12-1-1 and earned his second win in a row inside the UFC after submitting Ismael Bonfim this past July.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page had his arm raised against Nursulton Ruziboev in an unspectacular three-round fight where minimal striking occurred between the two, and the audience voiced their displeasure.
Ruziboev controlled Page throughout the first round after achieving a takedown as Page tried to battle to his feet. The second and third rounds largely took place on the feet with Page constantly feinting but not committing to any consistent attacks. The style mismatch disappointed the audience, and Page was not interviewed after the decision was read.
That said, it’s Page’s fourth win in a row and moves his record to 26-3. His last five victories have all been decisions in the UFC.
