Adriana Rizzo comments on NXT departure: “I know there is a lot more of my story left to write” – POST Wrestling

Adriana Rizzo says she has “a lot more” of her story to write after confirming the end of her four-year run with WWE.

Rizzo was among at least 10 developmental departures reported on Friday night, alongside Wendy Choo, Jasper Troy, Zena Sterling and others.

In a statement on X on Saturday, Rizzo reflected on the injuries that interrupted much of her time with the company and said she was disappointed not to get a greater opportunity following her latest comeback.

My journey wasn’t an easy one. An Achilles rupture and surgery, followed by an ACL and meniscus surgery, kept me out of the ring for nearly half of my time in NXT. But I fought like hell to come back.

And I did.

What makes this ending difficult is knowing how hard I fought to get back, and not getting the opportunity to show all of you just how much more I had to give.

Rizzo, real name Anna Keefer, joined WWE as part of its fall 2022 Performance Center class. She became best known as the female member of the D’Angelo Family alongside Tony D’Angelo, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Luca Crusifino.

She ruptured her left Achilles in 2023 and later partially tore the ACL in the same leg. In August 2025, Rizzo announced that she had completely torn the ACL and also suffered a torn meniscus, requiring another lengthy absence.

After being cleared in June, she returned to WWE programming as an interviewer on Evolve before resuming wrestling at an NXT live event in July. Her final match took place at a house show on August 21.

Rizzo said becoming her WWE character and working with the D’Angelo Family had shown her she was capable of more than she previously realized.

I’m incredibly grateful for my time as part of The D’Angelo Family. They truly became family to me. Becoming Adriana Rizzo was such a unique experience, and I loved every second of bringing her to life.

She thanked WWE coaches, producers, teammates and fans before looking ahead to her next step.

“I don’t know exactly where the road takes me from here,” Rizzo wrote, “but I know there is a lot more of my story left to write.”
