John Cena says he has ‘all the details’ on forthcoming John Cena Classic tournament – POST Wrestling
Nearly four months since the announcement was officially made, we’re still waiting to hear more about the “John Cena Classic.”
At Backlash in May, Cena announced that WWE will present a new tournament named after him. The John Cena Classic will be a bracket featuring rising stars in the company, providing them a chance to get a spotlight.
It was also highlighted in Cena’s May announcement that the Classic would include a fan voting element, although it was unclear how it would factor into the tournament.
When asked about the tournament, which was revealed long ago, Cena told fans to keep waiting for more details to come out eventually.

“I can’t say nothing right now,” Cena said during a panel at the Toronto FanExpo. “I don’t want to leave you without an answer. Normally, I’d say, ‘We’re figuring out the details.’ I’ll say this: We have all the details. You just have to hang in there with me because they want me to keep it a secret until it’s time to say it. But we got a lot of information I’m gonna dump on you [eventually].”
Earlier this month, Fightful Select reported that the Cena-inspired tournament is expected to take place in December.
