How Much Will They Earn For World Title Clash?

Moses Itauma and Filip Hrgovic are said to be in line for the biggest paydays of their careers when they fight each other for the vacant IBF heavyweight title at The O2 in London on Saturday.

The rising British star is a favorite and the winner is set for lucrative opportunities in the post-Usyk era of heavyweight boxing.

Moses Itauma Will Receive the Lionshare of the Purse

The fighters and the promoters have not made the official purse figures public, but it has been reported that the total purse for the heavyweight title fight is about £2.2 million (around $3 million). Bet365 says the money should be split roughly 70-30 in Itauma’s favour.

As a result, Itauma would have an estimated £1.5 million (about $2.03 million), and Hrgovic would be expected to get approximately £700,000 (about $948,000).

For Itauma, the figure cited is yet another big rise in his income as his reputation keeps on growing. The 21-year-old is said to have earned around £450,000 (roughly $609,000) from his fifth-round stoppage of Jermaine Franklin Jr. in March.

The amount that Itauma earned previously in a single paycheck was said to be about £1.1 million (roughly $1.49 million) from his first-round knockout of Dillian Whyte in August 2025. At the time, other reports stated that Itauma’s guaranteed fee for the fight against Whyte was $1 million, bonuses possibly bringing his total earnings up to about $1.5 million.

The total amount on offer of £1.5 million (approximately $2.03 million) would thus establish a new record for Itauma before any further contractual payments or bonuses are taken into account.

Hrgovic Is The Underdog In the Odds And Paycheck

Hrgovic is also looking forward to receiving a large sum of money. According to Bet365, the Croatian heavyweight is expected to earn approximately £700,000 (around $948,000), a figure which the company referred to as the highest purse of his professional career.

The match in which Hrgovic faced Zhilei Zhang in 2022 was initially won by Matchroom and Wasserman through a purse bid for $650,000, entitling Hrgovic to 60 per cent, which amounted to $390,000. He then beat Zhang by a controversial unanimous decision.

The amount of money being offered on Saturday is the largest prize of either fighter’s career — a heavyweight world championship.

Itauma has entered the contest with a record of 14 wins and 12 knockouts, and he has achieved 10 wins by stoppage in a row. Hrgovic, who is 34 years old, has a record of 20 wins and 15 knockouts, his only professional loss having been in the 2024 IBF interim heavyweight title fight against Daniel Dubois.

Itauma would become the second youngest heavyweight world champion in the history of boxing, Mike Tyson having been first at 20 when he won the WBC title in 1986.

Meanwhile, Hrgovic is given another chance to win a world title having secured three consecutive wins after the loss to Dubois.
