AEW President Tony Khan believes several wrestlers outside the promotion are trying to get in.

Recently speaking to Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Khan opened up about the balance of maintaining his already stacked roster while also trying to find the balance of adding some of the fresh and talented names in the industry.

There are so many great wrestlers around the world, and so many of the very best professional wrestlers compete in All Elite Wrestling,’ he said. “I always say AEW is where the best wrestle, and I really believe that. I think that the very best wrestlers in the world are competing in AEW right now,” Khan added.

It’s exciting that so many of the best wrestlers outside of the company are trying to get into AEW,” he admitted while pointing toward his promotion’s collaborations with the likes of CMLL and New Japan Pro Wrestling, two promotions which allow their wrestlers to “compete in multiple promotions.”

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day are currently available as two veteran free agents in the market, while former WWE Superstar Ilja Dragunov also became a new addition to that list. While all three men are heavily rumored to be a part of All Elite Wrestling, there have been no confirmations yet.

Tony Khan talks about AEW’s roster depth

Last month, while appearing on the Roar Around The Ring ahead of Dynamite in Detroit, Michigan, Khan talked about his roster depth and competition in the promotion.

And so, we have to be very considerate about who we sign and about who comes in to compete because right now there’s already so many great wrestlers competing for these spots on TV and on pay-per-views,” he said.

In the last few months, AEW has signed several new talents, including Motor City Machine Guns, Andrade El Idolo, The Dogs, Lena Kross, Tommaso Ciampa, and many more.
