Avery Styles Signs With TNA Wrestling At Lockdown, Confronted By Former Champion

Avery Styles, son of WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles, announced he had signed with TNA during Lockdown.

Styles appeared during the show to announce he had signed with the company before Frankie Kazarian interrupted him. 

Kazarian hearkened back to his days alongside Styles’ father in TNA, and said there were a number of wrestlers backstage that the rookie could not trust. He concluded by saying that he will always be someone he could trust due to the love he has for his father. 

Avery Styles made his pro wrestling debut earlier this year on the independent circuit before making his GCW debut on August 1, entering the business after his father hung up the boots in January. 

There had been some controversy following his debut after Styles was criticized for not helping set up the venue at the event, with Styles senior and Booker T among those to come out in support for the younger wrestler. The argument against Styles was tied to the old wrestling adage surrounding “paying dues,” one that Paul Wight has since said resembles bullying or hazing those new to the business.
