Candice LeRae receives support for WWE push: ‘She deserves so much more of a spotlight’

Trish Stratus had high praise for Candice LeRae especially when they collided for a tag team match at Elimination Chamber 2025.

Stratus talked about her brief WWE run last year in an interview with POST Wrestling. She reflected teaming up with Tiffany Stratton against Nia Jax and LeRae for the PLE match in Toronto. Stratus acknowledged LeRae’s extensive wrestling experience prior to WWE citing that she deserves more time in the spotlight. 

“I remember, even the match in Toronto with Nia and Candice. I was so excited with Candice. I’m like, ‘Dude, you’ve been actively wrestling so much longer than me,” said Stratus. “I’m so excited that we get to share the spotlight’. And people can be like, ‘Damn, look what she can do.’ I’m excited about that. I think she deserves so much more of a spotlight, to be honest.” 

She discussed her feud with Becky Lynch and mentoring Zoey Stark in 2023. The WWE Hall of Famer further highlighted how the storytelling with Stratton was a potential for a ‘finale match’ if it serves the purpose of a comeback. 

“We have the tag match in Toronto, great moment, baby face moment, and then we have the face off, and then where could it go? I’d love to have a finale match. Sort of like where we were going with that coming with part of my 25th (anniversary) my mom got sick, she passed. But it was that long-term story that I was so excited to bring about. So people are like, ‘Oh, are you going to go back?’ and it’s like, ‘I got some boxes to line up first, if that’s going to happen’. Definitely, I do go, ‘let me see what purpose am I serving? What are we being fulfilled? Are the fans being fulfilled? Is it serving a purpose?’”

LeRae made her main roster debut as a participant in the 2019 Royal Rumble. She has sparingly competed in singles matches and been featured in storylines. Currently, the WWE star is often spotted backstage attempting to offer solace to Johnny Gargano after Tommaso Ciampa’s exit leaving his future uncertain. 

LeRae squared off against Jordynne Grace on the February 27 edition of SmackDown, marking her most recent match in a WWE ring.
