Blake Monroe to face Giulia in first WWE main roster match – POST Wrestling

Blake Monroe will face Giulia in her first match since joining the WWE SmackDown roster.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made the match in a WWE digital exclusive released following Friday’s episode. WWE has not yet announced when it will take place.

Aldis told Monroe that several members of the women’s locker room had submitted complaints about her backstage attacks. He said it was time for Monroe to do her fighting inside the ring.

Monroe responded by suggesting a WWE Women’s Championship match against Chelsea Green, but Giulia entered and volunteered to face her instead. Aldis approved the matchup.

Monroe made her first SmackDown appearance on May 22, crossing paths with Green in a backstage segment. She has yet to compete in a televised match since moving from NXT to the main roster.

Her issues with Giulia escalated on the June 26 SmackDown. After Giulia defeated former associate Kiana James, Monroe entered the ring and attacked her from behind.

Monroe has continued targeting members of the SmackDown women’s roster in subsequent weeks, including an attack on Candice LeRae on July 17.

The former NXT Women’s North American Champion and Giulia previously competed for Stardom before joining WWE.

In another digital exclusive posted after SmackDown, Shinsuke Nakamura further teased his new partner to take on the MFTs as “a ticking time bomb”.
