Danhausen vs. Dominik Mysterio Rated One Of The Worst Matches In Recent History
This year’s two-night SummerSlam provided fans with a mixed bag in terms of quality and entertainment. That’s to be expected with an event this big. Not every match is going to hit. However, the Human Monies on a Pole match has gone down particularly poorly, earning one of the worst Cagematch ratings in recent WWE history.
Danhausen vs. Dominik Mysterio’s Terrible Cagematch Rating
230 fans have left a rating for the Danhausen vs. Mysterio match on Cagematch, and well over half of them have given it a score of one or less. The site works on a rating of zero to ten, which means fans can technically award matches nothing. 78 of the 230 to cast their votes have done exactly that, which is why the match’s rating is embarrassingly low.
At the time of typing this, the match has a score of 1.48 out of ten. By comparison, the next worst-rated matches across SummerSlam weekend both have scores of between three and four – Baron Corbin vs. Trick Williams, and the six-woman tag team match from Saturday night. Also pretty poor scores, but almost three times as good as Danhausen and Mysterio have mustered so far.
Although, as Wrestle Features claims, it is one of the worst-rated matches on Cagematch in WWE history, there are some infamous showdowns with far worse ratings on the site. Seth Rollins’ battle with The Fiend inside Hell in a Cell, for example, has a score of just 0.58. Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole’s match from WrestleMania 27 has the unwanted distinction of being the lowest-rated match in WWE history with a score of just 0.19.

Matt Cardona Weighs In On When Cagematch Matters
Shining a spotlight on the match’s Cagematch rating has sparked a lively debate on social media. WWE Superstar Matt Cardona replied, asking, “Who gives a sh*t about cage match?” Unfortunately for Cardona, wrestling fans are notoriously good at keeping receipts. They immediately hit back by quoting a post where Cardona got very excited about a match he was in receiving a glowing Cagematch rating, implying that when ratings are bad, they don’t matter, but when they’re good, they’re important.
Above all else, fans appear concerned that Mysterio has been reduced to competing in gimmick matches on big stages. There was a time when the second-generation star felt destined to be a future World Champion. His stock feels like it has dropped significantly in recent months, hitting a new low at SummerSlam.
