UFC flyweight vet Allan Nascimento dead at 34 – POST Wrestling

Experienced UFC flyweight fighter Allan Nascimento reportedly passed away this morning.

UFC announced today that 34-year-old Nascimento was found “unresponsive” on Monday morning after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep. The MMA promotion says Nascimento was given medical attention, but later pronounced dead at the scene.

Nascimento was an active member of UFC’s 125-pound division, last competing in June when he faced off against Mitch Raposo.

Born Allan Alves do Nascimento, the Sao Paulo-raised Brazilian talent got started in the sport of MMA in his late teenage years. He trained out of the prolific Chute Boxe gym, a team best known for raising Charles Oliveira.

He would spend the first half-decade of his career mainly fighting in his home country, meeting notable talents like future UFC fighter Ricardo Ramos, KSW contender Bruno Azevedo, and soon-to-be RIZIN titleholder Roberto Satoshi Souza.

Nascimento missed out on a UFC opportunity in 2018 after losing a split decision to Raulian Paiva on Dana White’s Contender Series. The long-awaited call-up for Nascimento would emerge three years later, meeting Tagir Ulanbekov in 2021.

While Nascimento lost his debut performance, he later went on a run of four straight wins, a streak which only came to an end with his recent loss against Raposo.
