Yuya Uemura and Kosei Fujita among three wrestlers out of NJPW Destruction in Kobe – POST Wrestling

Yuya Uemura, Kosei Fujita and Yushin Hatazawa have been removed from Sunday’s NJPW Destruction in Kobe card.

New Japan announced on Saturday that Uemura and Hatazawa are unable to compete because of illness, while Fujita has suffered an injury to his right knee.

No further information was given on Fujita’s injury or how long he is expected to be sidelined.

The changes affect two matches on the card at Kobe World Memorial Hall.

Uemura and Fujita had been on opposite sides of a six-man tag, with Aaron Wolf, Taichi & Uemura scheduled to face TMDK’s Fujita, Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr.

That has been reduced to a tag match, with Wolf & Taichi taking on Oiwa & Sabre.

Hatazawa was due to team with Tatsuya Matsumoto against Masatora Yasuda & Taisei Nakahara in the kickoff match. NJPW has canceled that contest.

Taichi missed action earlier in the Road to Destruction tour due to illness, but remains scheduled for Sunday.

The show is headlined by Yota Tsuji defending the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Hirooki Goto.
