Nicolas Cage Compares The Marvel Cinematic Universe To A ‘ Well-Funded And Glorified WWE’ – Fightful

Nicolas Cage has made his feelings about the Marvel Cinematic Universe and WWE clear in a recent Q and A session at a Fan Expo.

In the last couple of years, movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have drawn criticism from fans and actors alike regarding the over-reliance on visual effects instead of physical sets and on location shooting. Now, an actor who hasn’t featured in the cinematic universe has compared it to pro wrestling.

While speaking at FAN EXPO Dallas in a recent interview, Nicolas Cage let fans know what he thinks of the MCU, comparing it to a ‘well-funded and glorified WWE.’

“The MCU is becoming a… I do say this with love. When I see these 50-plus otherwise intelligent, remarkably gifted thespians putting on these ridiculous outfits and getting ready for the fight, and let’s face it, it is cutting all to the fight, it’s hard for me not to be reminded that the MCU is becoming a well-funded and glorified WWE.”
