On the road to the Money In The Bank 2026 PLE, WWE took over the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas for the September 21 edition of Monday Night RAW. The show featured some more qualifying matches for both the men’s and women’s Money In The Bank ladder matches, the renewal of the feud between Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, and much more across the night!

TheSportster’s rating system will take a look across the entire match card for the latest episode of Monday Night RAW to determine the best match of the night, the weakest of the show, and how everything else stacked up in between on WWE’s red brand.

Bayley Vs. Lyra Valkyria

Overall Rating From TheSportster: 6/10

In her first televised match since losing back at Saturday Night’s Main Event in July, Bayley returned to action to do battle with rival Lyra Valkyria on Monday Night RAW. Bayley wasted no time at all in taking it to Perez, coming out of the gate hot in her attacks to the rising name. The pair proceeded to engage in a well-wrestled contest that both had solid in-ring work and good intensity. Things did fall apart somewhat when a Valkyria eye poke was inadvertently seen and ignored by the referee, before she hit a very awkward powerbomb on Bayley, who landed poorly.

The latter stages of the contest ran a little sloppy in places as momentum and structure was lost, with a pretty lackluster ending to boot. Bayley’s frustration came over her as she attacked Valkyria, though a momentary lapse in judgment allowed Valkyria to throw her into the ropes before pinning the veteran with a tights-assisted roll-up. These two could certainly do a lot better.

Je’Von Evans Vs. Bron Breakker

Following a backstage interaction, two men already qualified for the Money In The Bank ladder match in Bron Breakker & Je’Von Evans collided in an impromptu matchup on Monday Night RAW. The intensity was present from the opening bell as the two both came out of the gate hot, brawling outside of the ring. From there, each rising star was hard-hitting and intense in their strikes and offense upon one another, giving this match a strong level of animosity. Shortly following Evans’ impressive dive into the timekeeper’s area, Breakker soon slowed the match down and took control of the babyface.

Evans hit back and the pair went back-and-forth, trading momentum with big moves as the fans got more and more into the action as it continued. Given how dominant Breakker has been presented, Evans got a surprising amount of offense and seemed to have his number at many times during this contest, taking advantage of Breakker’s overconfidence. It took interference from The Vision to keep Breakker in contention, with the group eventually attacking Evans to cause another insanely frustrating DQ ending, following up on the disqualification finish between Breakker and Oba Femi recently. This was a strong match, but the ending sucked.

Dragon Lee Vs. Dominik Mysterio Vs. Penta (Money In The Bank Qualifier)

Prior to the main event of Monday Night RAW, the 946 trio of Royce Keys & OTM ambushed Solo Sikoa in the parking lot and kidnapped Sikoa, ruling him out of this Money In The Bank qualifier. At the last moment, it was Penta who stepped up to the plate to replace Sikoa in this triple threat bout with Dragon Lee and long-time rival Dominik Mysterio. There was some good action throughout the contest, especially as it pushed towards the latter stages (as it did have a slow start and some lethargic sequences), with the audience getting more invested as it went on.

In the last few minutes, Mysterio caught Lee with an incredible 619 which cut Lee off from a dive to the outside, coming close to a win but being unable to keep his opponent down. The three traded some big moves and near-falls which perked up the crowd, though the action did sometimes lack energy, consistency, and fluidity. Expectedly, Penta secured the win with a Mexican Destroyer on Mysterio to earn a spot in the men’s Money In The Bank ladder match, bouncing back from last week’s loss to Roman Reigns.

Iyo Sky Vs. Roxanne Perez Vs. La Catalina (Money In The Bank Qualifying)

Iyo Sky wrestled for the first time on RAW in over a month to take on Roxanne Perez and the brand new AAA Reinas De Reinas Champion La Catalina, seeking to earn a spot in the 2026 women’s Money In The Bank ladder match. The earlier stages of this contest displayed the great in-ring ability of all involved with some very strong technical exchanges and pinfall combinations, earning respect from the crowd in the process. All three shined, but Perez with her added heelish instincts was particularly impressive throughout.

The quality continued as all three women came close to a victory, showcasing a good level of intensity given the interweaving feuds that were in place here. All three displayed the struggle of this matchup with urgency, strike exchanges, and more, deserving far more appreciation from a crowd who were admittedly in and out of the match, not reacting majorly to Catalina in her rare appearance in WWE. In the end, it was Perez who hit a last ditch Pop Rox on Sky to win the bout and advance to the ladder match.
