A Huge Spoiler Has Ended LA Knight’s Main Event Run

After beating Penta in an instant classic match for the World Heavyweight Championship at Raw in Mexico City, Roman Reigns immediately moved on to his next challenger as LA Knight attacked him in the ring. It’s now official, with Knight getting a title shot at Money in the Bank on October 10 in New Orleans. Fans desperately want Knight to have at least one run with a world title. It feels like it’s now or never. Sadly, it’s never going to be because a spoiler about Reigns’ future shows that WWE is already looking past Knight. When Money in the Bank ends, so does LA Knight’s main event run.

LA Knight Faces Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Title at Money in the Bank

• Roman Reigns has already defended the title against the likes of Jacob Fatu and Seth Rollins.
• Reigns will most likely lose the World Heavyweight Championship to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 43.
• Knight attacked Roman Reigns in the ring after the September 14 Raw went off the air.

While a whole host of main event veterans like Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, and Sami Zayn are holding it down on SmackDown, Raw belongs solely to Roman Reigns. Whether you still love it or want something fresh, the Original Tribal Chief and the reformed Bloodline are the dominant storyline on Monday nights. Reigns has been the World Heavyweight Champion since beating Punk for the title at WrestleMania 42. Since then, he has entered feuds with the likes of Jacob Fatu and Seth Rollins, but no one has been able to take him down.

Eventually, someone will beat Reigns. Most likely it will be Oba Femi at WrestleMania 43. As much as fans love the Ruler though, what they really want is to see LA Knight finally get his moment in the sun as a world champion. For several weeks, Knight has been a thorn in Reigns’ side with his new friend Solo Sikoa. Following the September 14 Raw, Knight attacked Reigns and held up the gold over the fallen champion. Knight is coming for the OTC at Money in the Bank.

Reports Say That Roman Reigns Will Face Sami Zayn at Crown Jewel

• Fans love LA Knight, no matter how badly WWE books his character.
• Knight deserves at least one world title run, even if it’s a short one.
• Crown Jewel’s main event will see Reigns vs. Zayn in a champion vs. champion match.

If LA Knight is ever going to become a world champion, this is the moment. No matter how badly he’s booked, no matter how many big matches he loses, the audience refuses to cool. We love LA Knight. His talent, charisma, mic skills, and undying passion are undeniable and easy to root for. It’s starting to feel plausible that Knight could truly win the title this time. If Sami Zayn can make it after so many years, why not Knight? He doesn’t need to carry the World Heavyweight Championship for months. Even a short run would show that WWE takes Knight seriously and hears the fans clamoring for a belt around his waist.

It’s all fantasy. A new report from PWInsider Elite shows that WWE is going in a disappointing direction thanks to a spoiler about the pay-per-view following Money in the Bank. According to Mike Johnson:

“The company is looking to run WWE Champion Sami Zayn vs WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns as the main event of their November Crown Jewel event.” (h/t Cageside Seats)

It now makes sense why Sami Zayn beat CM Punk for the WWE Championship last week on SmackDown. WWE wants Zayn as the champion headlining Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 7, and the best champion vs. champion match possible is Sami vs. Roman Reigns. This is understandable, but it comes at the expense of LA Knight.

Another Main Event Loss Will End LA Knight’s World Championship Hopes

• LA Knight will lose to Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank.
• Knight will leave world title hopes behind and slide down to the midcard.
• Knight’s only hope is to get away from Raw and Reigns with a move to SmackDown.

Unless WWE is going to book LA Knight to win the title at Money in the Bank, only to lose it back to the OTC a week or two later, then it’s guaranteed he is going to lose to Roman Reigns. Both scenarios are lackluster. Either Reigns wins yet again and Knight loses yet again, or Knight is finally given the ball only to have it nearly immediately knocked out of his hands. Knight is losing at Money in the Bank, and it’s a loss he can’t afford. One more failure in the biggest of moments proves that WWE will never see him as a champion. Where can he go from there? It’s an immediate downhill slide to the upper midcard, where Knight can challenge for the Intercontinental Championship as bigger aspirations die forever.

The Crown Jewel spoiler makes it difficult to get excited about Knight vs. Reigns at Money in the Bank. We can already see how it plays out. Ref bumps and outside interference will lead to a Reigns win (please don’t let it come at the hands of a Solo Sikoa heel turn). Following this, angry fans will take to social media about how they are sick of WWE and Triple H, how boring Reigns is, and how unfair it is to see Knight treated this way. WWE will then move on as if none of it ever happened, rinse and repeat.

If there is to be any hope at all for LA Knight, he must get away from Roman Reigns and Raw immediately after Money in the Bank. Send him to SmackDown and give the man a fresh start. It’s unlikely it’ll happen there either, but if Sami Zayn, the ultimate disrespected underdog, can finally win the big one, maybe, just maybe, there is hope for Knight as well. Just don’t hold on to that hope at Money in the Bank, or you’re going to be severely disappointed.
