Andy Williams a.k.a. ‘The Butcher’ collapses at Enjoy Wrestling show – POST Wrestling
Andy Williams, a.k.a. The Butcher, suffered a medical event at an independent show on Saturday night, which led to the show’s cancellation.
Williams was teaming with longtime partner The Blade (Jesse Guilmette) against TME for Enjoy Wrestling at Mr. Small’s Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania.
Enjoy Wrestling has posted the following statement:
Andy collapsed at the end of his match this evening. Our doctors on staff tended to him immediately, administering CPR until the ambulance arrived. We sent everyone home and are at the hospital now waiting for more information. Thanks to everyone who helped and has reached out
POST Wrestling has heard from several people who attended the show and shared their eyewitness accounts of what happened.
From Rich Fann, who attended the show:
It was towards the end of the match. He seemed to be in a bit of dire straits, they went to a finish, and he was a little wobbly. Andy then went down, and Blade helped him up a bit and then tried to get folks to help – but no one saw at first. Once they saw, both the crew, the paramedics, and the crowd worked in unison. Cleared a path, paid attention to the calls on the mic, and then got him chest compressions, ice, and then the AED. Then they boarded and got him out of there.
From a second person in attendance:
He was in a match with Blade against TME which seemed to go short as he left the ring for Blade to take a pinfall. He then was outside for the remainder. I thought maybe he was concussed but my friend said he looked gassed. They paused the show for an intermission as Enjoy staff and fellow talent tried to help him. They moved him near an exit door. Nothing really happened for 15 or so minutes until police arrived and then EMTs 5-10 mins later when they announced the show was ending early.
Fann noted on BlueSky that paramedics were in attendance for the show.
