Former WWE Women’s Champion Carmella has confirmed that she is now retired from professional wrestling.
Carmella made the announcement during the latest edition of her Hot Mom Sh!t Podcast while speaking with Laura Clery about her marriage to WWE commentator Corey Graves.
While discussing how she and Graves met through WWE and the challenges of balancing their busy schedules, Carmella casually revealed that her days competing inside the ring are now behind her.
“We’ve been married almost four years….We worked together. So, we met through work and it was a very similar kind of situation, we worked together all the time and then we were home. I related a little bit to when your book and you’re saying, ‘Our dates were all about half romance, half business planning’ so we did that,” Carmella said.
“Luckily, I’m retired now, so it’s definitely a little bit different.”
She later made her status even clearer, explaining that wrestling is no longer something she is able to pursue as she focuses on life as a mother.
“I was a professional wrestler, so it’s I can’t wrestle anymore. I’m a mom. I have kids. So, that’s kind of like I’m retired.”
Carmella has not competed in a WWE ring since March 2023, when she faced Bianca Belair.
During her time away from the ring, Carmella had previously spoken positively about the possibility of eventually returning to WWE following pregnancy and health complications.
However, her latest comments appear to close that chapter, with the former champion now describing herself as retired.
Carmella enjoyed a memorable WWE career after joining the company in 2013.
She became the first woman to win a WWE Money in the Bank ladder match in 2017 and later successfully cashed in the contract to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
She also became a WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Zelina Vega in 2021.
After more than a decade associated with WWE, Carmella now appears ready to focus on the next chapter of her life away from competing inside the squared circle.
