Carmella Shares Multiple Confusing Updates About Her Retirement
Carmella has shared new information regarding where she stands in terms of her wrestling career and whether she ever plans on returning to the ring. The trouble is, after three updates, if anything, the wrestling world is now more confused about where she stands than it was 48 hours ago.
Carmella Is Retired, Or Is She?
The saga began when the latest episode of Carmella’s podcast, Hot Mom Sh*t, aired this week. On that podcast, the former WWE Women’s Champion told listeners that she had retired from wrestling. Even though it has been three years since Carmella wrestled her last match, that came as quite the bombshell, as fans were expecting her to eventually step back in the ring.
Carmella seemed shocked that her retirement announcement made headlines. Shortly after the podcast episode went live and news of her retirement began to spread, The Princess of Staten Island took to Twitter to say she doesn’t know what all the fuss is about. Carmella is confused because she claims she has been retired since the birth of her first child in 2023. Fans are surprised because, even though her eldest child is almost three, Carmella has never relayed that message before, at least not publicly.
Just to muddy the waters further, Carmella signed off that first tweet by noting, “Doesn’t mean I can’t come out of retirement though”. In her defense, that’s pro wrestling. Retirement rarely sticks. However, she has since tweeted again and really confused things, as the most recent update confirms the exact opposite.
Wait, No, She’s Not Retired, I Think
As her fans were sharing their dismay at the idea of never seeing Carmella wrestle again, she replied, “You guys… My foot is healed. And I’m in the best shape of my life… definitely not retired.” There was less than two hours between Carmella’s post claiming she is retired and that one not only claiming that she isn’t, but a post where she framed herself as confused as to where the idea that she’s done wrestling could have possibly come from.
Her podcast comments, for one, and then, you know, the tweet confirming them right after.
As it stands, based on her latest post, Carmella is not retired. It has been a while since she last wrestled, though, not only because she was recovering from an injury, but also because she has had two children. She is also currently a free agent, as her WWE deal is believed to have expired in 2025 and was not renewed.
