Eric Bischoff questions whether AEW can maintain New Level’s momentum

Can AEW maintain New Level’s momentum following their All In debut? Eric Bischoff has shared his verdict.

At AEW All In 2026, Kofi and Austin Creed as The New Level were announced as All Elites. The duo, alongside Swerve Strickland, won the opening match of the night to earn the World Trios titles.

However, wrestling veteran Bischoff recently expressed his doubts over whether AEW could maintain their momentum. Speaking on the latest edition of his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff raised the question.

“Those guys bring so much energy to the party. It’s just inevitable, and it’s great to see. I loved it. I’m happy for them. Two great guys. Happy that they’ve got an opportunity to continue to do what they love to do and wish them nothing but the best. But what was my impression? They brought a ton of fresh energy. Ton of fresh energy, and I was happy to see it.”

“Can’t say. So much of it has to do with creative, what Tony’s [Khan] willing to commit to long term or even midterm, short term. If all you’re going to do is pop the guys out there a couple times because they’re the bright new shiny objects that you get to play with, and they come out as we’ve seen in the past, this is the pattern for former WWE stars when they make the transition,” Bischoff shared.

The former WCW President further opened up and claimed that while The New Level appearing was a big deal, they could be in the “witness protection program” within the next three months if not booked properly.

“They show up, it’s a big damn deal, everybody’s excited, and three months later they’re in the witness protection program. So it just depends if they get truly integrated into the show and into storylines, and they’re meaningful storylines. If we get a chance to see what New Level is all about and they establish it themselves, then I can see it absolutely working because they bring so much energy to the dance and they’re great inside of the ring,” he added.

Bischoff justified his statements by bringing up examples from the promotion. “It could be really good. But the pattern that’s been established for the last six or seven years has been, let’s just wait and see what happens.”

Just days after their AEW debut. Strickland and New Level are now set to defend their World Trios titles against The Rascalz on the upcoming episode of Dynamite.
