Mercedes Mone confirms injury sustained at AEW All In

Mercedes Mone left Wembley Stadium with both the AEW Women’s World title and a broken nose.

The new champion confirmed the injury at the post-All In press conference, saying she sustained it “right at the beginning” of her match with now former champion Willow Nightingale. She said she needed stitches and was still bleeding during the presser.

It’s unknown when she will be cleared to return to in-ring action. That was not brought up at the presser, but she will be in attendance this Wednesday for a championship celebration at Dynamite.

She said the experience at Wembley was “absolutely everything” and when told she is the first woman to hold World titles in AEW, CMLL and WWE, she said she is “here to make history, here to change the game. (The title is) another accolade. Keep it going.”

Just a few years after she appeared in the stands at the 2023 edition of All In from Wembley Stadium, Mone also discussed what she felt like in that moment, saying she knew she wanted to be in AEW that she was “at home,” noting there was no other place other than “here.” She said she felt the “love, passion and energy of that night. That night was incredible, so much magic.”

Nightingale went into the match with a broken hand. The severity of the injury is unknown as is how long she will be out of action.
