John Cena says ‘no Khan’ has enough money for in-ring return
John Cena won’t be returning to the ring — whether that be in WWE, AEW or anywhere else.
During an appearance at Fan Expo Canada in Toronto over the weekend, Cena again ruled out an in-ring comeback, saying that “no Khan” has enough to make him change his mind. Cena was giving a panel at the convention when a fan started chanting for “one more match.” He shot that down by expressing how unfair it would be to the fans who saved up to come to his retirement tour believing it would be the last time they could watch Cena wrestle.
“No Khan has got the pocketbook — Nick, Tony, they ain’t got the money. I’m out,” Cena said. “I’m going to take your chant and I can say that because lot of you folks spent a whole lot of resources on my farewell tour. If I decide to selfishly come back for ego-driven reasons, basically that’s saying I’m lying to every one of y’all. You might not mind, but there are people who paid a fortune to sit at that last match. And for me to be like, ‘Just kidding.’ I met so many families that put so much effort into saving just to see those moments. For me, I’m out of it with my health. I feel good. I got good clarity and good closure. As far as ever falling down again, that’s out.”
Cena spent all of 2025 on a retirement tour before capping off the year with a loss to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event last December. He is still under WWE contract as an ambassador and hosted both nights of WrestleMania 42 this year, along with making an appearance at Backlash.
John Cena’s ‘no-fall-downs’ policy —
In retirement, as he said at the Fan Expo panel, Cena has a no-fall-downs policy where he will not be getting physically involved when he does make WWE appearances. He also will be wearing formal attire rather than his old wrestling gear.
Cena has been involved with the launch of Club WWE and came up with the idea for the John Cena Classic, which is still in the works even though official details have not been announced yet. Cena said at Fan Expo Canada that, though he cannot publicly reveal those details, things have progressed to a point where they are known by WWE internally.
