AEW All In Has Replaced WWE WrestleMania

For four decades, WWE’s WrestleMania event was the marquee professional wrestling supercard of the year and the most anticipated show out of any given calendar. The sheer spectacle of WrestleMania was like nothing else, whether it be star power, high stakes matches, presentation, or scale. However, the WrestleMania concept has taken a serious downward dive in the last two years with shorter matches, more emphasis on advertisements, celebrity involvement, and a lack of heart & soul attached to the event. However, across the pond AEW’s All In stadium show has only gotten better and better each year, and 2026 is the time to finally make the admission; All In has replaced WrestleMania as the biggest and best wrestling event of the year.

AEW All In: London 2026 Was Everything WrestleMania Used To Be

The buzz surrounding WrestleMania season used to be something truly special, with the event itself being full of glitz & glamor, high profile matches, the best crowd in the world, special entrances, and life… but this has depleted in the last couple of years. On the flip side, AEW has taken all of those traits and more. AEW All: London 2026 from start to finish was a pure spectacle, with a show featuring nearly all of the roster, wild returns in Britt Baker & Sting, special debuts on the part of The New Level, match of the year contenders in Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Mone and Will Ospreay vs. Kenny Omega, title changes, and so much more across the PPV.

The main event of AEW All In: London 2026 was the clearest example of how high the levels were in terms of presentation and focus on putting on the greatest show possible. The entrances from both Kenny Omega & Will Ospreay were each as good as any entrance you’ll ever see at a WrestleMania, followed up with one of the greatest matches in the history of the sport that had supreme presentation. Comparing AEW’s presentation to WWE’s isn’t necessarily fair due to how different they showcase professional wrestling, but there is no denying the feeling of All In was far more special this year than that of WrestleMania.

WWE’s WrestleMania Concept Is Dying

• WWE & TKO care more about money than putting on good WrestleMania events.

Under the guidance of TKO, WrestleMania has stopped feeling special. After an all-timer event at WrestleMania 40, WWE followed up with a commercial-heavy, lifeless offering in WrestleMania 41. Whether it be long waits between matches, Travis Scott getting involved in the main event of the show, lackluster matches, or fans sitting on the WrestleMania stage and set, there was an off-feeling about the event. This was only expounded upon the following year when WWE returned to Las Vegas for the second year in a row, ousting the event from New Orleans and giving the PLE to the highest bidder.

WWE & TKO did not learn from the previous year, putting on a card at WrestleMania 42 that had even more advertisements, painful wait times between matches, and even more jarring celebrity involvement in a main event match, this time with the highly criticized Pat McAfee storyline. The depleting perception towards WrestleMania was clear in the big drop in attendance, with each night of WrestleMania only achieving around 50,000 fans per night – the lowest in 20 years (not counting the pandemic years). With WWE once again turning to the highest bidder with a controversial WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia, it is safe to say that the WrestleMania concept is going to struggle.

AEW Can Cause Further Damage To WrestleMania In 2027

• AEW is likely to host a major stadium event on WrestleMania weekend.
• 2027 is a huge year for both AEW and WWE.

WWE is heading to Saudi Arabia for WrestleMania in 2027, making this the first year ever without a WrestleMania weekend in North America since the 1980s. There is a major gap in the market for a marquee WrestleMania-level event during this time period in North America, and AEW is the only promotion who can fill it. With Dynasty 2027 being announced for February, it looks as though AEW may be pushing Revolution to April, which lines up with AEW attempting to create a big event and week of wrestling that attracts all the independent promotions and fans from across the nation and globe.

This could be a huge turning point for AEW, especially if the negativity surrounding WWE & WrestleMania continues to drop. If AEW can craft a WrestleMania week type of feel with Revolution, then this can translate further to AEW’s other blockbuster events in Double Or Nothing, All In, All Out, and Full Gear. It is certainly an exciting period for AEW, but a potentially worrying one for WWE and the iconic WrestleMania show.
